Author Topic: Suggestion: If no front/back cover art is present default to disc image  (Read 954 times)

I noticed that if there is a disc image but no front/back artwork uploaded you'll get the grey "No Art" blank image.  A couple of examples are below.  So my suggestion is if no cover art exists to default to the disc image when browsing games.

We just recently talked about and voted on the issue in this poll.

You could probably edit those items you listed as appropriate :)

Yup! Just make sure your items definitely did not include any sort of packaging (or at least a front cover).

If you find any entries where there is no front art, and there is no packaging and the disc/cart art is the only one that is used (to indicate the entry was made before the new art rule came into effect) you can do an edit to put the cart art into front art. Then post into Listing errors to get the cart art to be removed.

It should be noted in description field for items like this how there was no packaging for the item.
But I think that even games like Longbow FX came in *something* and that should be the front art, with the disc alone in cart art... but finding the correct pictures may be well impossible so if we do find the actual something the disc was in we can add that as the front art as time goes on.

Agreed.  If I see that I'll send over a correction.

I did want to point out that the Jane's Longbox FX was actually a pack-in and only came with a white plain sleeve if memory serves me correctly.

Yes it came as a pack-in for the Intergraph Intense 3D 6MB Voodoo, along with special versions of Turok and Moto Racer. But that was from so long ago I don't remember what kind of sleeve they were. I don't even have the video card anymore, just the 3 games.
