What Would Your Game List Be for a PS1 Classic?

Just because I'm not a fan of the N64 :P

As Marv said in his N64 thread, it would likely have less games due to memory constraints. So I'd say like a dozen games, give or take, most likely. So what would your picks be?

My picks:

1. Resident Evil 2
2. Twisted Metal 2
3. Tomb Raider 2
4. King's Field II
5. Crash Bandicoot
6. Gex
7. Metal Gear Solid
8. Final Fantasy VII
9. Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!
10. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
11. Einhander
12. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2


I know, there's a lot of sequels in my list. But honestly, a lot of PS1 game series' defining games are their 2nd entry, never really noticed that before.

This is even tougher than the N64 list because of how large the PS1's library is :).  But if I had to choose a dozen to please all the folks buying it, it'd look a little like this. :D

I feel that lineup is the essentials and has a lot of diversity. But I feel dirty leaving so many out lol.

To be honest I could list at least 50 more games for a ps1 classic the system has many great games.

Realisticly

crash bandicoot 1 - 3
CTR team racing
spyro 1 - 3
medievil 1 & 2
final fantasy VII
metal gear solid
castlevania symphony of the night thanks to the hype otherwise not included since it wasn't a super popular game back in the day
suikoden 1 & 2 same as symphony of the night since they are super popular now the games to get.
tony hawk skateboarder 2
reident evil 2
tekken 3
ridge racer 4
tomb raider games
parappa the rapper
twisted metal

Also if the system comes with less games the less popular games will be the first to go or perhaps the lesser parts of certain popular trilogies. Probabably no suikoden 1 & 2 for sure if that's the case


I highly doubt that any of the more expensive less popular rpg's such as brigadine or valykrie profile persona etc will ever come on a ps1 classic just not popular enough not to mention not sold well back in the day.

Same goes for most shoot em ups even einhander and many of the other uncommon games that are mentioned

I also think that no mega man games will be on the system It's not really playstation esk not to mention the many compilations of mega man that are out there.
