What TV/Netflix show are you currently watching? (Megathread)

I just recently picked up season 1 and season 2 of Superboy (1988) on dvd. I'm mid-season one. It's cheap, it's hokey, it's cheesy, but it somehow is still charming and I keep watching it. Not sure what it is exactly but I'm entertained. I hear it actually gets better in season 2 (and they replace the actor that plays Superboy), but I haven't made it that far.

Lex Luthor is just...wow. Have you seen South Park? Do you remember the disabled bully? I swear the creator's of South Park based that character on this specific version of Lex luthor, sidekick and all. No exaggeration, he acts just like him, minus the disability.

Have you seen this? What are your thoughts on it?

Crushed out season 3 of Silo over the weekend, and I think having a 4th and final season renewal really did wonders for the focus and pacing of the show.  It has a little bit of a shakey start with an old worn out trope, but it uses it well, and doesnt dwell on it too long.  Best season of the show so far, and I'm amped for the final season next year.

The new season of the King of the Hill reboot is great.  Stands up with the best of the original run.

As some of you may know. I grew up and am from Fall River. The city in which the Lizzie Borden Axe murders took place. The lore and story of the murders is essentially pre school education in my birth city. I sang the nursery rhyme skipping rope at age 6. It's very ingrained in my family on a deeper level that I wont personally share. But to put it simply. We have direct connections to Lizzie and the trial.  So while I never expect liberties to not be taken at all. This is Hollywood im aware.  I also expect some simple semblance to accuracy of any accord. 



The Monster: Lizzie Borden "story" is just a hot dumpster fire. It really is.  It's so disgusting.  At some point I may start to agree with the do gooders who have been shunning Ryan Murphy and his portrayals.  He started off mostly holding a mirror to the evils of killers of the past.  The dahmer one was so good because he pretty much nailed the pirtraysl and didnt deviate from reality. Now it seems he is trying to rewrite the world.  And sad part is.  Gen Z will believe this nonsense.  That's why a title like "the Lizzie Borden story" is especially problematic when it doesnt follow the story at all.  I'd say it's so transformative that it skews and Alters the consumption of proper story telling and historically significant information.


We can make a film where Hitler is gay and falls In love with a black man from Sweden and they tap dance to Eminem Diss tracks using a time warp portal. And his motives for the holocaust were a quest for lovers equalit.
 Do as you must with fiction. But certainly dont call it "the Adolf Hitler story"   and market it in this way.  It blurs the line between satire south park parody and "this is really what happened" to an offensive point quite frankly.   I dont like real people, and real trauma being made a goof of for the sake of pretentious art.


This thing is a fairytale written by someone who just doesnt care about respecting victims and their families anymore.   With Dahmer. He didnt disgrace the victims. He more so shined a light on the horrors they faced.  Now?  Yeah. Its all out the window.  I personally think going to Oak Grove Cemetary and spitting on the Borden family plot would have been less disrespectful than this cheap, budget, Jax from sons of anarchy joke of a series.

Oh man, that last episode of Lanterns was awesome! The slow build paid off!

Watched the first season of Hacks.  Very good, very funny, but a more serious and realistic tone than I was expecting. That's not a bad thing. Just makes it a little tougher to binge than I had initially expected.

Second season of Hacks is a tiny bit more cohesive than the first, with a more prominent through line, but it doesn't feel as robust, probably because it is two episodes shorter.

Binged most of Stuart Fails to Save the Universe this week. It's silly, but it silly nerdy fun; and in a different way than Big Bang Theory. BBT was just a straight sitcom. This is a sci-fi adventure with comedy, that has all kinds of sci-fi/comic tropes as he goes from parallel universe to parallel universe.


At work for a couple days, will watch the season finale Sunday, probably.

Also finished the latest season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Dang this season was disappointing.
Too many gimmick episodes in an already too short season. This show started off so strong, too.
