95% of my collecting these days revolves around buying newer titles for the PS4 and Switch, most that I play within a week or two of buying. Not only has retro collecting become way too time consuming and difficult, but I personally have the vast majority of retro games I've ever wanted. However, I still do collect retro games, just not nearly in the quantity I used too.
Speaking of retro, I also don't acquire them the same way I did several years ago either; almost all my retro purchases come from ebay now since the time and effort needed to find them in the wild now just doesn't justify what you actually end up finding. I've also been at that point where what I'm after is so hard to find, I might as well start buying lottery tickets while I'm at it since I'm not likely to find a CIB copy of Mario Party 3 while I'm out and about looking.
I do miss the hunt, but it's become way easier to get the games I'm after just by getting them online.
