What is your favorite Game OST?

Mine would have to be either Tail Concerto, Steel Reign, or Sonic Robo Blast 2's OST, as pretty much every song in those games is amazing.
(Also, yes your pick has to be an OST that you like almost every track or every track from)

It's a close tie between Final Fantasy VI and Final Fantasy VII. If I had to pick just one, it'd be VI because I have more nostalgia for it.

I don't think that people should easily pick a favorite from any form of media. Mood and atmosphere have a lot of influence. That being said, here are a handful of quite enjoyable game soundtracks.

NieR
NieR is a stunning achievement as a Soundtrack, not only is it very diverse but it also compliments the story with having lyrics in a made up language for the game. I love Nobuo Uematsu's work & if I had to pick a favourite it would easily be Final Fantasy VIII but NieR's OST is something very special.

Also, Shout out to Crash Twinsanity feature a soundtrack completely in capella!

There’s so many it’s hard to pick a favorite.
#1 is probably Final Fantasy VI.
Symphony of the Night and Chrono Cross round out my top 3.

I think there are soundtracks that are great to listen even outside the game and some that are perfect for that specific level of that specific game, so that's a pretty tough question.

But after thinking for a while, if I have to choose one that is close to perfection on both aspects, I'll have to go with Streets of Rage.

Either the Guilty Gear games for original music, or Brutal Legend for the 100+ metal songs they have available.  Undertale is another real good one.

Here's another NES title.... I choose you Ninja Gaiden!  I like the whole soundtrack but the songs I really like, you know the ones, can raise my spirits at any time.  I see Mega Man II and Sunsoft's Batman very closely behind.

Ys II: Ancient Ys Vanished by Yuzo Koshiro and Silent Hill II by Akira Yamaoka are two of my all-time favorites.
