Happy birthday Sega Genesis!

On this day in 1989 the Sega Genesis was released in North America.

What was your favorite Genesis game?

Mine was definitely X-Men 2: The Clone Wars. That game and the Sonic games where the reason why I ended up buying a Sega Genesis when already being an SNES owner. The graphics, the sound, the comic accuracy were all awesome. But the gameplay was spot on too, and playing as Magneto was just the icing on the cake.

Didn't have a genesis release only europe and maybe japan

but for me it's gotto be second samurai. had allot of good memories of this one as a kid and it's imo still one of the better games on the system

also one of the better co op games aswell , great gameplay whacky sega esk sound effects and music. this is the kinda game I think about when people talk genesis/ megadrive.

We got a Sega Genesis at some point, I don't remember when or how, but I had that after my NES.  I was bigger on Sonic back then, so I loved like Sonic 2, 3, Knuckles, Spinball, 3D Blast, and a couple others, I never owned tons of games for it...Vectorman...drawing a blank on some others.  Rented a bunch for it so that's how I played stuff like Ristar, Rocket Knight Adventures, and more.  I believe I owned Lion King and Aladdin as that was the system I played those on.

I didn't grow up with the Genesis, but I did pick up a used one and a couple of Sonic games as a teenager. Then later on I got the Genesis Mini when that came out, which is where most of my experience with the platform comes from. It has some really great games, but Monster World IV became an unexpected favorite. It's kind of a Zelda II-style side scrolling RPG with Mario-esque platforming elements. The main dungeons kinda give off Metroid vibes. It actually ended up becoming one of my favorite RPGs.
Games Needed to Complete Collection:
