Bought a Switch 2 on August 31st, and have Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza and Star Fox coming in the mail. I saved 50 bucks on the hardware before the price-hike and I guess that's as cheap as the system will be for the foreseeable future, maybe forever???. It's a relief knowing this is *perhaps* my last dedicated console purchase ever given that the future generations will likely have zero physical media or ownership of games

My game purchases are on pause in the hopes of Nintendo announcing a Zelda themed Switch 2 system and Twilight Princess HD port. If the Zelda themed Switch 2 happens, I'll preorder it for the family as the big Christmas gift. I expect with the price hike to $500 for the base system, a Zelda themed one will be $50-$100 more... which sucks.

Somehow.... after three days of disappointment, annoyance, and perseverance, I managed to secure the Zelda themed Switch 2 system for the kid's Christmas. Snagged it during the last wave of Nintendo Store stock. Now just hoping to secure the matching Pro Controller.

I preordered Zelda OoT Remake (NS2) on Amazon, getting it for $10 less. Them and Walmart have it at $60 instead of $70 if you're wanting to save a little.

I got lucky because I have widely avoided this fomo bubble but it certainly has effected the difficulty of obtainment lately. And i'll most likely never own Spiderman Edge of time because of it lol.   I got my puppeteer for 15 sealed in maybe 2016 and opened it for the culture lol. I have been deep into PS3 since pre pandemic and even multiple times here have forewarned that its gonna balloon. Its the next PS2 I said. And of course that was predictable. What I didnt expect was the speed and the reasons for which it did.  This fomo stuff for one makes absolutely no sense considering it was based mostly on Sony announcing they are closing the PS3 store.  Which for one everyone already knew that was an inevitable outcome. Why now?. Secondly.  My G.... the games people have been driving up in price have been delisted for years.  Folklore, Puppeteer, Wet.  All of them. So the store closing and Sony doing away with physical games on a PS6 in 2028 dont change the overall availabilities of these games for a PS3 console at all. We could say people freaked out becsusd of the digital only stuff and gained appreciation for physical. But why PS3 and not PS4 and PS2?  Its pure tik tok driven collector lunacy and its mostly us eating our own. I hate scalpers. I second that notion. I try not to contribute to it.   

However. I have lucked out seriously lately with games usually in the 3 to 5 dollars range. It's a whole mess load of fun. And tbh. There is still meat on the bone out there for gen 7.  Mostly because those top games we mentioned get all the nursing puppies on the well chafed and over sucked teet. And games like Ridge Racer 7 and Enslaved and neat niche games are going unnoticed for now.   

Also as of now. Ive migrated a lot of my Gen 7 love to 360 since they share 3rd party games. PS3 has become a classy high maintenence diva and 360 is the down to earth girl next door thats happy with McDonald's. 


I sure do miss those 5 dollar game crazy bins more and more.

Rounded off the dirt series on the low. My only gripe is I usually like to do console continuity but I bounced around here but tbh I just wanna play the best versions of the games. Dirt 1 supposedly runs bad on ps3.
