That Doctor Who bit is pretty badass. Actually the guy seems to have some fun stuff on his channel, I'm listening to some more :P

The guy is freaking amazing! Some truly epic guitar-work to make some classic themes 10x better.

I prefer Pantera's later sound, but their early stuff is not bad.

How is it that Amon Amarth still kicks this much ass after this many albums?

Quick question:

Do you consider AC/DC and Guns 'N Roses heavy metal, or not?

*Personally*, I'd consider AC/DC more like "hard rock" and Guns 'N Roses more like "Hair"/"Glam" Metal (although, I do like some stuff by both of the bands)...but that's just me :)

I'd go with the "rock" denomination for those. Mostly in the "rock that doesn't suck" subgenre, depending on the album :P

Anyone here use Last.FM?

It's an online radio station that you can pick and choose what you want to play on it, yourself. There's also a recommendations station you can listen to, tailor-suited to your tastes, or you can mix your personal station with the recommedations station. Or if you're in the mood for a particular band's style, you can listen to their radio station which will also play other bands similar to that particular band.

Whenever I'm online I have a window open with it on. It's a great way to discover new bands. I've discovered a bunch of new bands through them.

Check it out. You've got nothing to lose, it's completely free.

Here's my personal listening library, at the moment:

I used to use Pandora, but I switched to Last.FM a while ago.  What I liked better about it is how specific you can get on what you want to listen to.  Lately I have been listening to a lot of doom metal, on Pandora there is one station: Doom Metal Radio.
On Last.FM I can choose:
Traditional Doom
Death-Doom
Gothic Doom
Epic Doom
Blackened Doom
Atmospheric Doom
Sludge Doom
etc.
Or I can just choose doom and get a combination of all of these!

Same here. Pandora is too restricting compared to Last.Fm since it chooses for you. And it doesn't always choose right.

Nope, but thanks for the suggestion. Just checked to see if it works here and it seems so, so I'll be trying that out.
I used to use Pandora, but that stopped working in Canada at some point years ago, and I never looked for an alternative. That might be it.

Blackened Doom isn't bad.  Sludge Doom is ok, depends on what mood I'm in.

Sorry for butting in, but is anyone here a fan of Motorhead? I got a couple of sealed concert films in during today's store purchases and wanted to ask if anyone wanted first dibs on these.

The World is Ours Vol. 1 (Bluray, apparently region free)
25 & Alive "Boneshaker" (Import PAL R0 DVD with CD)

If not, they'll go up on eBay.
