Blockbuster had 4 for $20 blu-rays (normally $9.99 or less), so I picked up:

- Rise of the Planet of the Apes
- Pirates of the Carribbean: On Stranger Tides
- Kung Fu Panda 2
- Rio

Oh yeah, I can't remember if I mentioned it before or not, but I found a ridiculously bad (therefore, awesome) kung fu movie at Goodwill.

I shuffled through all of the normal boring copies of kids movies when I found this, housed in a big, white, nasty clamshell case:

Picked up Five Finger Death Punch The Way of the Fist today

Today I wandered into town (in Mexico) to see if any of the local "dollar" stores still had copies of Supreme Commander available. They had some for months but I never picked one up - then one day they removed all the games, DVDs and CDs from the store that was closest to me. I decided to check one of their other stores which is about fifteen minutes away by bus, across town, and found a few CDs, and some cheapy DVDs.

However, I decided to walk into the pharmacy next door (which is owned by the same company). I found that copy of Hitler's Clone at another one of their stores... and found a few more DVDs.


The pack on the left contains six drug lord / Mexican gangster films and was released by Brentwood Entertainment in the US some six years ago. This thing was hidden away inside a shelf display that had other DVDs and CDs.
The pack on the right contains three random movies, two of which were of interest to me (the other one, not so much.)

Here's the awesome part - both of these sets were on discount. The one with six movies had a price of twenty pesos - about $1.66 USD. The second one? 54 pesos, about $4.50. However this one had different prices because they'd put the package on clearance. So I went to the register to pay and they only charged me 36 pesos for both - THREE DOLLARS.

Too bad that six pack has double sided DVDs. I freakin' HATE them.

Despite that, it looks like that six pack might not be a total bust after all.

Today I got Mob Rules by Black Sabbath and Moving Pictures by Rush.

Picked up a double feature version of Fast & The Furious: Tokyo Drift/ Fast & Furious and a copy of Fast Five. We watched Fast & Furious and Fast 5 last night. I really liked them both! Of course I've already been a fan of the franchise though, so that helps.

Picked up the Mel Brooks Collection (9 films) on blu-ray a few days ago.  Amazon had it on sale for $26, which is a crazy price -- that's under $3 per movie!


Includes Blazing Saddles, High Anxiety, History of the World Part I, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Silent Movie, Spaceballs, The Twelve Chairs, To Be or Not to Be & Young Frankenstein.  Sadly, it doesn't have The Producers, but luckily it doesn't include Dracula: Dead and Loving It.  Hated that movie.  And I rarely hate movies.

I went to a supermarket in my hometown to see what kind of cheapy DVDs they had. They had a bin filled with legit DVDs for less than 10 pesos each, but they were on sale, so each one cost me about five pesos - around 42 cents each. I found a bunch of titles that I wanted but most were pretty beat up. I did find Kazaam with Shaq! But it was dubbed to Spanish. These are shrinkwrapped discs in cardboard sleeves so they're super cheapy.
