Ha, I was talking with some friends over Skype yesterday night, and one of them (a Canadian) said he didn't have school today.  I asked if it was because of Columbus Day, and he was totally bewildered.  "No... it's Thanksgiving tomorrow.  What's Columbus Day?"

Oops :P

Some folks in America call it Indigenous Peoples Day - so have a good Monday whatever you're celebrating!

I'm from Newfoundland too!... But I've only lived there for the first year of my life or so (I was born there, then my parents moved to Ottawa), so I've never actually "been" there. I've never even been screeched in!
