I think the Street fighter ones are the only ones that look correct. The rest seem off in some way. :|
I agree. To me, there is a mix between a stylistic period piece and a little bit of added reality that makes everything a little disturbing. The Pokemon are just a cock fight. And the Mario Kart one is completely accurate but creepy.
I do really like them though. I saw them on Felicia Day's vlog a while back. Thought about buying one, but thought... would I actually hang that up in my apartment. The answer was no. So, I decided to pass. I think they are cool. They just don't belong in my apartment.
