I just saw the photo of the thing.

THIS IS A FREAKIN' BETAMAX PLAYER.

It does look like one doesn't it. I do kind of like the design though. Not my favorite design, but I like it. I would probably ooh and aah taking it out of the box. I won't lie about that.

I'm starting to see the reaction and stories on youtube regarding that each gam is tied to an account and fees for used games (What insektmute was saying). I don't know how legit it is now. But it does not look good now. If this is the case, I may not be picking up Forza 5. This will give me lots of time to concentrate on the SEGA collection. Which in all honesty kind of excites me.

Ya I read that earlier. Which put me off on the console even more. I'm waiting to see what the future holds for gaming now.

If the PS4 goes the same route and nothing super interesting sparks interest on the Wii U. I may be focusing on the 3DS, PC and older stuff.

Sorry if this sounds rude but

http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2013/05/xbox-one-analysis/

legit enough?

that is enough to make me say right now I'm not getting an Xbox One.

I'd like to point out that today I also cancelled recurring billing on my XBL account.

Not rude at all. Actually it was the Wired article that made me think it was still rumor. Everything providing quotes was just going to that article. It was not until I saw Larry "major Nelson" commenting on it that I figured it was legit. I tend to be skeptical of every news source quoting the exact same news source.

I'm not doing it today. But I was thinking about looking at all SEGA collecting. It is taking pretty much all of my attention anyway. But I might very well cancel XBL very soon and focus that collection even more as I move to my new apartment.

The current XBox is still good. I'm just already on the fence of going all SEGA anyway for console. Switching to PC and emulation for everything else.

The way I looked at it was, I don't game online with friends on it anymore. I'm not going for the Xbox One and I use the PS3 for Netflix/streaming anyway. So what's the point of keeping it?

I'm pretty worried Microsoft might try to do something similar on PC. Which would suck for me. GFWL was bad enough!

I don't want any Windows 8 exclusive games... they already exist... :(

I haven't even been on xbox live since before I got the Wii U, and right now my thought process as of late for multi-plat games has been Wii U>PS3>360

I haven't even been on xbox live since before I got the Wii U, and right now my thought process as of late for multi-plat games has been Wii U>PS3>360

WiiU - Least evil of all. Fantastic system for a Nintendo fan. I'm just not a big modern Nintendo fan. The games are good. They just don't speak to me. I hope the WiiU wins.

PS4 - I dislike Sony controllers and the exclusives don't speak to me. I also think Sony is one of the most evil companies. I suspect they will follow Microsoft's route.

XBox|One - Would be my choice if not for the used game registering and fees. This by itself puts me in the pass category.

PC - Would be the way I will probably go, but suffers several problems. Windows suffers the same issue. You have to deal with Microsoft. Steam on Mac is pretty decent, but Mac hardware is annoying to keep up with. Steam Linux and the Steambox might get better... hopefully....

Also, PC is no better than XBox. The used game market has been dead on PC for a while. If I complain about the problems on XBox|One, can I go to PC gaming without being a hypocrite? XBox|One seems more liberal on used games and ownership of media than PC games.

I would want one if not for the used game thing.
