I found an auction of 100 of them for like $45 with free shipping. I'd prolly go that route so they are all uniform.

Bought that lot of 100 new cassette cases on ebay. Looks like I'll be deep in graphics projects for awhile.

I have a problem with wanting things as uniform and mint looking as possible, when it comes to graphics projects. :\

I just use a binder with those little baseball card sleeves. They work pretty well to store GB/GBC/GBA carts and saves a hell of a lot of space. The cassette idea is nice but how much more shelf space is going to be used up doing it that way?

If it's for shelf porn, who cares about space? ;)

I figure, that if the cases are 1/2" thick (estimating) then my 90 Game Boy games will take up approximately 3' 9" of shelf space horizontally. Which isn't that horrible really.

Precisely this.  ;D

So are you going to make your own artwork, or use the ones linked earlier?  Also, are you going to stop with the DS cases and do this instead?

Still working on the DS cases for the GBA games. The original Game Boy and Color games will be put in the tape cases. Since I'm into Photoshop/Illustrator, I'll be making all my own covers. Unlike the GBA DS cases though, I am going to use the original box art for the fronts. Like how it is in the example. But I've decided I don't like a few things about their design, so I am putting my own spin on it.

If someone has a cassette case and a Game Gear cart, can you check to see if they fit? My suspicion is that they don't. It always bummed me out that I can't do the trading card binder. I currently have two shoeboxes packed full.

What's the width of a GG Cart? I have case on hand that is sub-par. I can take some quick measurements.

There is part of the problem. I haven't owned a ruler since High School art class. I know GG carts are exactly as tall as a Genesis cart. So, if, you have a Genesis cart, that could be a good indicator. Sega kept all of their carts sharing similar dimensions. Not sure if this helped production costs of the PCB boards or not.

If you go off of height, the cart won't fit in the tape case. A Genesis is roughly 3/16s of an inch taller than the case. If the carts are narrower than that are tall, then you might be in business.

That's what I needed. It won't work. GG carts are almost square. I would definitely say less than an 1/8th of an inch. Sad times...

On to plan B, modifying a Halo ODST collectors edition chest to hold one game gear game a piece. Shelf porn to the max!

But seriously, I am envious of the cassette boxes for Game Boy games. Those are seriously sweet.

Why do that, when you can get Borderlands chests and Steel Battalion boxes too!

But, ya they are. I'm looking forward to getting all my games in them. Right now I barely touch my Game Boy because it's too much of a hassle shuffling through them all.
