Upcoming Niche Japanese Games

Square Enix has announced that the Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster will be coming to the PS4 in the west this Spring, and will cost $49.99 at launch.

Just read that - I wonder what exactly the "system specific features" will be?  I'll probably end up with it eventually because I'm such a FFX nut, but not at release.

I'm not sure either, but the digital-only PS4 port of Final Fantasy VII is supposed to have them as well. I'm assuming it's something only the PS4 can take advantage of, but maybe not. Either way, IMO, it's not worth the difference in price at launch from the versions we already have. I'll probably pick it up eventually though, seeing as I don't have the PS3 or Vita versions of the remasters yet.

It might just be something meh like being able to stream the game, but who knows?

The CE is still in stock, but it's for PS3.  I'm sure they'll want it for PS4 later on, and I'd like to see if there will be a CE for that at all.

My boyfriend noted that it doesn't say that it's a Square-exclusive CE, so folks should be able to find the CE at other retailers eventually.  I haven't had issues with Square's store, but I can see how it might easily be an issue.  I got my copies of Theathrhythm Curtain Call easily enough from them.

I'm happy w/ the CE we're getting - the only thing that interests me out of that EU set is the steelbook, and we're getting that. Our set is reasonably priced too, I doubt that other one would be...

Speaking of Collector's Editions/Limited Editions and all that, NIS America has the Limited Edition of Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea up for preorder now. It's just more of their usual stuff though, fancy box, art book, soundtrack, plus other thing (a poster in this case).

Xseed recently announced that Brandish: The Dark Revenant (PSP) has been delayed to early 2015 due to some issues with the localization. Unfortunately, those issues don't involve giving the game a physical release. :'( (Yes, I realize a physical release on the PSP in North America in 2015 is unrealistic )
