STATS! The Return - January, 2015
« on: January 14, 2015, 09:23:38 pm »
Alright folks, I'm back with the first set of stats, since March of last year... which I feel crappy about. But, while I've been slacking on saving and posting the monthly stats for VGCollect, she has been growing all the while!

As part of getting back into the swing of things, I'm going to post up a mini Stats update. And as part of our weekly work nights, I'll be logging the stats once again. Hopefully we never go this long between stats updates ever again.

So lets take a look at what's been happening behind the scenes during this time...

Users

We are up to almost 19,000 registered accounts! Amazing! And so far this month, we've seen 215 new members join the site. Welcome to all the new people this month and the folks I missed while I was MIA!

- Total Registered Users: 18,969
- New Users This Month: 215
- Daily Average: 17

Items

The database keeps growing as well. We are currently sitting at 69,998 individual items listed on the site, that's great! As of when I did the totals we were only 2 items away from 70,000 items!

This month alone we've seen 973 new items added to the database, with 1,197 edits done to existing entries too! Great work guys!

- Total Items in Database: 69,998
- New Items This Month: 973
- Daily Average Items: 75
- Edits This Month: 1,197
- Daily Average Edits: 92

Collections

Collections has always been where the big numbers are and they tend not to disappoint. In the absence of stats posts, the collection totals have seemingly skyrocketed. The last stats update listed our total at 758,102. Now, we are sitting at 1,189,690 total items being tracked across all collections!

This month alone, you guys are averaging 2,143 items being added to your collections DAILY! That's amazing. According to my spreadsheet, the highest average we've ever had in the history of VGC has been 1,450/day back in April of '13.

Wishlists and Sell Lists have gotten a lot of love as well, with 157,545 items being tracking across all Wishlists and 4,784 items up for sale/trade.

- Total Items in Collections: 1,189,690
- Total Added to Collections This Month: 27,861
- Daily Average Added to Collections: 2,143

- Total Items in Wishlists: 157,545
- Total Added to Wishlists This Month: 4,784
- Daily Average Added to Wishlists: 368

- Items For Sale/ Trade: 7,661
- Total Added to Sell List This Month: 107
- Daily Average Added to Sell List: 8

So there we go! It wasn't a mini-mini update, other than the fact that it only covered half the month thus far. As I said, I'll be updating the spreadsheet every wednesday from now on and will make a point to post the stats monthly again as well.

Great job guys!

yea. stats for nerds is back. Game Nerds that is.  8) I would be cool to have a page designated to sight growth (as in graphed over time) and you can drag and click or type in the time frame.
