Ahh, that Grant Kirkhope.  See that's a real person from the UK.  Not that that ponsey pot, spit-spot, bangers and mash bullshit stereotype you see while eating your TV dinners.

I'm super extremely excited for Yooka-Laylee  ;D Plus, Playtonic tweeted this afternoon that if they reach 1 million (pounds) pledged by midnight, Grant Kirkhope is going to play Ukulele outside the E3 convention center, and I know I would like to see that  :D

I pledged for a console release for now, the physical rewards are a bit too pricey for me  :-\ Still, I can't wait to see how it goes!

I'd be all over the N64 box recreation, but I don't have 500 bucks to spare on this lol And they already made 1 million! They are just about to hit over 1,100,000.  They are going to easily make 2 million I think.

A million USD yes, but not a million pounds, which is their money unit  :) It's coming pretty close, though; they are currently at 752k pounds. Let's just hope that the 3.5 hours remaining will be enough!

According to twitter, they are counting the 1 million in USD as the mark for that.  Grant will be at E3 with his ukulele :D Also I totally misread the stretch goals, in that they are in pounds, not USD.  They are still guaranteed to get it though as they are up to 1.2 million USD now in just the first day.  They'll get it by tomorrow easily and then we'll see what extras they decide to add.

Oh, I thought that they said in pounds on twitter too! Yay!  ;D

I'm am super hyped for this! This is something we have needed for a while. Who knows we might see more collect-a-thon platformers like this appear again.

I don't quite understand why this needs to be a indie project. I want full-on retail release, and with so many people backing this project, it's hard to understand why they couldn't find a big publisher to put this out properly.

There's always the chance they could get a publisher after this, but the idea comes down to doing it this way gives them much more freedom to do whatever they want with the project.

I would honestly be surprised if they didn't announce a publisher not long after the Kickstarter has been completed.

The issue with big publishers these days is that they want Payable DLC, Microtransactions, Paid this, Paid that, Yearly releases .etc

This type of game doesn't fit into any of that criteria, they might have pitched it and publishers simply didn't want to take the risk. They couldn't milk it after release and the amount of sales was uncertain.

That being said, I am excited for this. I haven't backed it yet but most likely will.

Bumping for a new trailer and a release date of Q1 2017! So happy with the look of the game.  It'll fill that Banjo-Threeie hole in my heart.

RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISE!

The folks over at Playtonic Games have announced that the game will receive a physical release and that they are working on a plan to allow Kickstarter backers to upgrade their digital pledge to receive a physical copy.

I was so happy when I read that.  I'm just hoping it's a negligible cost to upgrade.

I assume it'll be a few bucks to upgrade, 5 to 10 bucks, but I'm cool with that.  Really glad I can do an upgrade though so that I don't have to buy a second copy lol

Wii U version cancelled, Switch version announced.  Lots of vague information.

I personally backed for Wii U, so depending on the cost to upgrade to physical, I may request a refund and give my money to BestBuy/Amazon.

I read an article about 6 months back, talking about how Playtonic was only working on the PC and Wii U version, because those platforms are first and foremost... and that Team17 was porting the PC/Wii U version to PS4/X1.  Apparently, that is no longer the case.  I'm wondering what other management shenanigans they are and will be up to.

I'm a bit worried this might happen with Bloodstained as well, but it would be way more of a slap in the face since it was listed a a stretch goal.

It's not unexpected, though they said its because they were running into problems getting it working on the system.  It's really a smarter idea in the end to not release for the system with it being dead and to switch focus to the Switch.  At least they'll offer refunds or Switch upgrades, though I imagine the Switch version won't release till later in 2017, with the release date for the game being in April.

I'm also happy that they are gonna allow for physical upgrades.  I had grabbed it for PC at the time, but I think I'd prefer a PS4 physical version if possible.
