I got an email from Ubisoft this morning saying that the new South Park game was supposed to be at MS' show, but the only thing Ubi showed was that Division add-on. And I also thought the lack of Crackdown 3 was odd, especially since last I heard it's supposed to come out this year.

I think it's probably a safe assumption to say that the developers can't get the cloud-based destruction to work properly.  What other reason would there be for this game to be in development hell for several years now?

That's what I'm thinking too at this point - especially since afaik it's the ONLY game that's touted using that cloud-based stuff.

Minecraft going cross-play and Microsoft in generally pushing cross-play and even cross-buy is really cool.  I'm just concerned that cross-buy is going to be limited to digital only, or you have to somehow use your X1 disc on your W10 PC to play on PC.

I'm pretty sure they specifically said at one point you'd be able to do this with your digital games. They definitely didn't stress the point tho.

Updated the main post with all relevant information from the event I think.  If I missed anything important, let me know and I'll try to add it.  Honestly, I'm quite happy with the Microsoft event.  Despite two new Xbox One consoles, nearly all their exclusive games are coming to PC.  Still through Windows 10, which isn't great, but I'll take it over having any more exclusives stuck to the console.

For me personally, I was stoked to see Recore, Dead Rising 4, Scalebound, and State of Decay 2.

PC Gaming Show up next.  I'll be posting stuff from this one too.

Dawn of War 3 discussion with gameplay footage.

Yeah I'm hoping they've tweaked it to be less dull and dragging. Snappier reveals is what is needed.

Oxygen Not Included - From the creators of Don't Starve, it's basically Fallout Shelter from the looks of it in a space setting.

Honestly wasn't super interested in Ark stuff, it's still an early access game, but the mod support for this game seems really cool.  The animal mod that is official where you get to basically live the life of nearly any animal. That's snazzy.  I'm still waiting for this game to release and not run like garbage on PC lol

Yep, MS has announced that Crackdown 3 is pushed to 2017:

Reading between the lines of that PR-speak, it sounds like they're definitely having issues.

Giant Cop - VR game that is super goofy and weird lol Fall 2016.

Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord - Feudal simulation action game.  Roughly up to 500 players can play, maybe more by release.  I'm not super excited by this game itself, but that feature is amazing.  You don't see that these days at all and I haven't seen that since MAG on the PS3.  To specify, this isn't an MMO.

The Surge - From the makers of Lords of the Fallen, Dark Souls inspired gameplay.  This is a scifi setting.  This is what I want to see so bad.  Scifi Dark Souls.

So...is the Scorpio a new system entirely or an incremental step-up of the Xbox One?
Incremental.  Basically Xbox One Point Five.  Honestly, it sounds like Scorpio is going to make a VR enabled Xbox one, so yeah, you can play all games on all systems, but you can only do VR on Scorpio type of thing... or X1/X1S will limp through future games after Holiday 2017

Gears 4 didn't thrill me, but the franchise hasn't grabbed my attention since the 3rd title.  I'll play it eventually like I did with Judgement.

recore, I still don't understand the game, so I'll again wait for more info to make a decision on how I feel.

Forza Horizon 3 is a must have for me, I love the Horizon series.

Minecraft going cross-play and Microsoft in generally pushing cross-play and even cross-buy is really cool.  I'm just concerned that cross-buy is going to be limited to digital only, or you have to somehow use your X1 disc on your W10 PC to play on PC.

Halo Wars 2 is neat, but I'm not an RTS guy.

I don't understand the point when companies release smaller systems other than maybe it is cheaper to produce.

State of Decay 2 looks interesting, but I still need to finish the first one.

Sea of Thieves looks entertaining, but it also looks online only, so I'm out.

Dead Rising 4 looks awesome to me and I'm all in.  Especially since it looks like it's going back to the first game, and I didn't get to play that one.

Scalebound doesn't particularly interest me, but I'm not into dragons and such, but Platinum usually makes great games.

Tekken 7 with Akuma, I really thought they were going to show Tekken X Street Fighter.

Gwent card game, no clue, still haven't played the Witcher games.

We happy few caught my wife's attention and I guess we are buying that early access when it goes up.

Custom controllers directly from Microsoft is kind of cool but with a $80 price tag (without engraving) that is an easy pass.

I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff

I think with the exception of Dead Rising & Forza Horizion, we have pretty much the same feelings on the announcements (I don't care for Forza's money scheme).  Sea of Thieves gave me a glimmer of hope for a real Rare treat, but online multiplayer only crushed it for me.  Everything they announced is also on PC!  What the hell?  There is basically zero incentive to buy an Xbox One for exclusives now.
idk, having to get w10 and digital only is the brick wall stopping me from considering going pc for these games.  I somehow doubt w10 does sales like steam to make it worth it for digital only.

There was always a reason behind Microsoft's 180.  At first, it was all about cloud computing and what it would do for Xbox.  But they quickly stopped talking about it and Crackdown 3 has become the ugly redheaded stepchild they keep locked in the closet.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised to see this game cancelled altogether or be released in a very different state than what people are expecting.

Windows 10 isn't half-bad honestly.  Digital only is a deal-breaker for me as you know.  But for the PC-game buying crowd that loves Steam, Origin, GOG, etc. it means they have no incentive to buy an Xbox One.

For those who already have an Xbox One, it's no biggie as they can buy the games there.  All Microsoft has done is said you don't need an Xbox to play Xbox exclusive games.

As for owning a physical copy, it sounds like the Xbox One games comes with a digital code for the PC version?  So a PC gamer that wanted a physical copy could buy the Xbox One game, use the code or disc if the disc itself works as a PC unlock.  This is definitely the route I would go were I ever to pull the trigger on these titles.  But honestly, the exclusives they have announced don't really float my boat.  Online-only games (with very, very few exceptions) are a no-go for me.  Recore might be ok.  Scalebound looks like Bayonetta with dinosaurs and I was done with Gears of War with the third game.  These are of course just my personal opinions.  Likewise, I've never been into Dead Rising.  The whole "zombie genre" is played out for me.  I would rather play a vampire FPS like Vampire the Masquerade back in the day.  If I want a gory game, Doom does the job for me.

PC hardware porn right now lol It's expected and I love new hardware, but this is so boring at an event like this lol

LOL It's kinda nifty tech, but new VR Hardware which is housed, PC and all, by Alienware, in a backpack.  Serious Sam VR.  Summer 2016.

Wait, you mean these will only be sold through MS' Windows 10 store? I was thinking they just required you to have the W10 OS, but that you would be able to buy the games on Steam or wherever.   :-\

There are some that will be on Steam, but certain ones like Dead Rising 4, Sea of Thieves, and some others likely to be Windows 10 Store Exclusive.

Vampyr.  There's that Vampire game you wanted where you play as one lol.  Third person action game. 2017 Release.

Killing Floor Incursion, VR experience. Super Hot coming to Oculus...Oculus Touch? I don't know what Oculus Touch is.

Tyranny from Obsidian. Isometric RPG.

Observer.  Scifi horror from developers of Layers of Fear. Eastern European Cyberpunk setting.

Dropzone.  MOBA style RTS game.  1 v 1 where you control what seems to be 3 units a piece.

I can guarantee you any of the games that you get an X1 and PC copy of are exclusive to the W10 store, or at least that PC copy is a W10 store copy.
