Definitely CTR. I'd also say it's still the best non-mario kart racer

For me personally its Mario Kart 64.  Honestly 4 controllers playing vs family its so so much fun.  I wish if i had the knowledge i would change one thing, the items i wish they were random and not what you are coming to help catch up.  If it wasn't for that it would be a perfect game for me.

Never cared for Nintendo 64 console or library of games. My personal favorite kart racer from around that era would be Speed Punks (Speed Freaks) with that 4-Player action-racing! Good Times.

Speed Freaks was almost unplayable due to dumb controls and excessive input lag, which you can't get used to even after hours of practicing. Mario Kart 64 is the superior fun racing game of its generation. No doubt about it. The only games, that come even remotely close to its quality and accessibility are probably Diddy Kong Racing and Motor Toon Grand Prix 2.

Mario Kart 64, just because I grew up with it and I believe it to be slightly superior to CTR. CTR is still a top tier cart racer though.

I've always thought CTR to be the superior kart racer.  At least compared to Mario Kart 64.  But Any recent Mario Kart definitely beats Crash Tag Team Racing...  I wish Naughty Dog still made Crash games...
