Wrapping up my four day Thanksgiving weekend, which between a very eventful Thankgiving, being bedridden on Black Friday, and feeling decent enough to go out yesterday and today, I can't help but be very happy with how the weekend ended! I found possibly the greatest gaming score I've ever found today (which I'll get to later). This will be a Flea-like post; just giving credit where credit is due :p.
PS3: all were 50% of pretty much what they go for on eBay typically due to a local game stores Black Friday deals
- Dynasty Warriors Gundam - $5
- Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2 - $5
- Sonic Generations - $5
- Final Fantasy XIII: Lightening Returns - $5
- Record of Aggarest War 2 - $3
- XBlaze: Code Embryo - $5
PS4: these games were placed on sale specifically at Black Friday prices. Same store where I got the PS3 games
- Mega Man legacy Collection - $10
- Skyrim: Special Edition - $35
Wii U: Same game store as the above deals. Wii U games were 30% off original prices which are typically on par with Ebay
- Mario Kart 8 - $30
- Star Fox Zero (w/ Starfox Guard) - $25
- Paper Mario Color Splash - $30
XBOX: Found all these while hunting at thrift stores and catching a particular store (not the one above) slipping
- Star Wars Battlefront 2 (no manual) - $10
- Midway Arcade Treasures 3 - $2
- Serious Sam - $1
- Jet Set Radio Future - $6
PS2 (NTSC-US): Same as XBOX games
- Tales of the Abyss - $7
- Wild Arms 4 - $8
This is where things get really cool!
Genesis: Both are CIB. Found another game store slipping on these in their bargain bin...Well at least Micky Mouse lol
- Micky Mania - $4
- Barenstain Bears - $4
SNES: Same game store where found the Genesis games. Major Slippage...mostly
- The Simpsons: Bart's Nightmare - $5
- Operation Thunderbolt - $3!!!!
- Doomsday Warriors - $10
- Xardion - $7!!
N64: Same store as the Genesis and SNES games, yet again, another game they slipped on. This one surprised me.
- Pokemon Stadium - $7!!
Okay, now for the grand Finale! There is a game store about 30-miles from me that is probably the best place to find gaming imports, oddities, and extremely rare consoles/games. Because they have a highly specific inventory that very few stores can match, they typically overprice 90% of their games no matter the title. However, their biggest flaw in their pricing is that they have so much inventory they rarely catch niche games when they skyrocket in price, especially imports. And that is exactly what happened today. On top of that I scored two copies of Sturnwind, a game I thought I'd never see again in person.
PS2 (NTSC-J)
- Street Fighter EX3 - $5 (Standard price, same as the version in the US)
- Saikyo Shooting Collection Vol 3. Sol Divide & Dragon Blaze (SEALED) - $80 (Probably aren't many people who know what this game is; it's a Japanese exclusive game that includes two SHMUPS on it, one that never made it outside Japan. While $80 might seem like a lot of money for this, even if it is brand new, I nearly started screaming; this game goes for nearly $300 in CIB used condition, NEW and Sealed I have no idea. Would have been happy with getting it used at that price
)
Dreamcast
- Sturmwind (2x, both SEALED) - $50 (These were left over from when they originally ordered them a couple of years ago when this game came out. Picked up both of them with the intent of possibly using them as trade bait towards very rare Saturn or Dreamcast SHMUPS I do not own yet. They are going for around $140 used CIB, so imagine they are probably worth around $200 or more NEW)
