Author Topic: What is the most horrific/disturbing thing you have seen on the internet?  (Read 3483 times)

Hello everyone :)

We all have been there when we have gone too far down the reddit rabbit hole or spent too long looking up odd things or have just gotten suckered into clicking on something awful on facebook by a troll and found something that truly baffled us and something that gave us the 1,000 yard stare in a hypothetical internet sense. :D

What is the most shockingly mortifying, disturbing, gross or just out right scarring thing you have even seen during your internet endeavors? :)

DO NOT CONTINUE IF YOU ARE SQUIRMISH

For me it was this video that I found on a shared facebook post.  The video starts off with a diagram blueprint of some sort of mad science expiriment the soviets were contemplating during world war II the bring a dog back from the dead with a zombie head.  It's a dog head sketched that is decapitated and it has these tubes attatched to it with this irrigation system.  They basically form oxygen in the blood through pumps and pump it through the severed dog head's brain causing it to stay mentally active and alive although completely detatched from it's body.  Basically a floating head.

That's all well and fine, I can handle a drawing. But than it shocked me.  Because I was so baffled they thought of something so ridiculously sinister but than the footage changed and it was a demonstration of it actually being done.

Their was this bubbling blood silo with a damn dog head decapitated on a table and they were banging this hammer near it's head to show it flintch and get scared showing it was still alive.  They put citric acid on the dogs nose and it licked it off even though it was a completely lifeless head.  Black and white with just this mad scientist with these creepy gloves. It was just like a nightmare as most of the underbelly of world war II was.  The dog head was free of soul but still balancing on both our plain and the other side.  It was truly mortifying to me and kept me up a few nights.

It kinda humbled me.  Sorta like how I don't get effected by lines at normal stores because of black friday lines.  Once you been in the thick of it you kinda learn to accept the minor things :)

What is the most awful thing you ever seen on the internet during your tenure? Anything that really sticks out?

God I have watched so many messed up things in my youth... Esentially if you have heard about it and it existed from ~2009 or older on the surface web I have probably seen it.

From a personal perspective the most disturbing video I had ever watched was of a raccoon that looked like it had been very bad beaten (in the fight with another animal sense) in the recent past (for it). it was laying on the concrete of an inground pool, in the country, in the middle of the day bleeding and when the person who was filming walked out of his house to see the animal it got frightened and ran into the pool and drowned. another person ran into the frame with a pool strainer (presumably to try and save the raccoon) but stopped before he dipped the strainer in and beckoned over the person who was filming over and when he got there there were hundreds/thousands of black parasitic worms that were swarming out of the raccoon. all in all I bet there were at least 20% of the raccoons total body weight it parasites that tried to get out of it.

makes my skin crawl to this day.

Unfortunately I have seen even worse on the internet than that but probably stuff that describing the video would get this thread banned... BME pain Olympics (the second video which is a compilation clip) comes to mind

Even when I totally love Crepy Pastas and everything related to horror/suspense the video Obedece a la Morsa was the most disturbed thing that I have ever seen, am not lying when I say that it I had nigtmares for some days, is not the big deal but saw it alone at home almost at 3:00 AM, after I saw it the fucking lights started to flash and sudenly the power went totally down, guess that it's because of this that I clasified this video as the worst for me.

I don't want to be horny anymore, I just want to be happy

There used to be this site called rotten.com ... Not sure if it still exists, I dont look for it anymore.

But recently, a guy from work showed me one of the things on his facebook which is links to people video taping homicides ... like wtf? They are in other countries ... but its still disturbing to kill someone just for a video.

Rotten actually closed very recently. late 2017 I believe. RIP sweet prince.

On that topic, it's hard to say what is the most distributing thing I've seen. I visited the for-mentioned Rotten in it's heyday when I was quite young, middle-school aged which was mainly still pictures, and in high school I would frequent 4Chan. You found a lot of really violent images on 4Chan back then, but it was rarer to find video because it was harder to get it uploaded in the earlier days of the internet. I think the most violent video I ever saw was of someone who had been shot in the head with a skin flap and brain matter bouncing up and down on a wheelchair as they where in some 3rd world hospital, in clear sight of many regular people. I don't really go looking for depraved stuff, so that is probably the worst I've seen. I've also been to Encyclopedia Dramatica's Offended page (a true staple) but that's basically just 4Chan and Rotten in a single, giant line; not something that will offend you if you've been on the internet for 20 years. There is much worse stuff out there (Soera's is actually pretty bad, never seen any snuff junk) but just using the internet as normal without trying to look for it is usually not gonna give you many run-ins, so that's good news for the squeamish.

Unfortunately I have seen even worse on the internet than that but probably stuff that describing the video would get this thread banned... BME pain Olympics (the second video which is a compilation clip) comes to mind

That was like a rite of passage in it's hayday. While it was mostly things that would especially make men cringe with it's overall theme, there was on particular clip that involved a hammer and respective smashing that came off as so comedic to me I coulden't stop laughing through the rest of it. Someone walking in on me would have thought I was a psychopath.

Probably a variety of things in 4chan's /b forum. It'll definitely make you think way less of humanity for every minute you spend in there.

Real life most times is more gory then almost all video games, and when the gore is real it can be most disturbing

I feel sorry for the veterans of real warfare. seeing first hand their friends and squad mates get burned, and shot and even have their heads blown off in real life.

I don't watch gory things on the internet, but I know google is like a genie and pretty much anything you type in you get what you ask for. Whether disturbing or not, depends on the person watching.

sometimes the real world is a lot worse then watching fantasy, in fact most violence in general is based off actual happenings including movies

Man, there's some messed up things out there.  I'm pretty sure the worst I've seen with my own two eyes is either "Blue Waffle" or "2 girls 1 Cup"
Both were super-effed up

Thankfully I haven't spent that much time on /b/ but I've seen some shit there. The worst things I've seen on the internet were on Encyclopedia Dramatica's Kittens and Offended pages though. I'm surprised no-one's mentioned those yet.

Thankfully, I'm pretty good about only tripping over the rabbit hole and not falling in, so normally I don't get much worse than MLP porn.

However, there have been a couple of videos that had well noted/warned disturbing content that was rather jarring- namely, the Game Theory Petscop video with the story of Candace Newmaker, and the old Jimquistion video with the Budd Dwyer clip. I mean, I'm fine, becuase I went in knowing I was about to see/hear something awful, but if I found that stuff by chance? I don't think I'd be able to sleep...

Darn, it was going pretty good and I thought the thread would get away without the cliche, but current year, I guess...
