Video Game Database Discussion / COA numbers
« on: February 21, 2023, 02:13:03 pm »
Someone please explain COA (Certificate of Authenticity) numbers as it relates to video games.

The COA 14-digit number appears meaningless for identification purposes.

Identical Xbox 360 games have different 9999x-xxx-xxx-xxx numbers. I've seen at least 10 different 14-digit numbers for the same game.

The other number, Xxx-xxxxx, is definitely not unique. For example, X11-40710 appears on at least 100 different Xbox 360 games.

I've been unsuccessful trying to correct the UPC for https://vgcollect.com/item/3278
It is missing the two leading zeros. There has been no response to my edit attempts. Are we banned from editing UPC's or is there a bug caused by leading zeros?

Conker's Bad Fur Day (N64) sold about 530,000 copies in North America. That should make very common and not rare.

I used this site over the years to find the number of units shipped for a particular title and entered this information into my personal database. The numbers don't become static until about 2 years have elapsed.

I don't have a clue, but I've wondered about it. My guess would be 50-75.

Logitech Driving Force for PlayStation 2

Please pull front and back images. They are not images of the North American release which I will post.

Those images came with the entry, so they cannot be pulled. Are you instead saying the barcode is wrong?

The UPC is correct, but the images are not. I purchased this item 20 years ago, and it is still in my possession.
