« on: February 16, 2014, 06:31:20 am »
This maybe in the wrong area, but I am in need of accessories for this thing.  I need a power supply, av cables, and a controller.  If somebody would provide some links for the aforementioned or have any of they are looking to part with let me know.  :)

Marketplace / Final Fantasy XIII-2 trade.
« on: August 19, 2013, 12:01:09 am »
This is going to be an odd request.  I have the PS3 version of the game, but no PS3.  I have been wanting to play the game but alas.  I was wondering if anybody that has the 360 version would mind trading the PS3 version.  Just swap em out.

I would prefer the game to be complete since the one I have had the shrink wrap taken off but never played.  It was bought for me as a gift knowing I don't have a PS3.

Hardware and Tech / Router issues.
« on: July 29, 2013, 03:31:38 am »
I think it may be time I take the ol'boy out back and put it out of it's misery.  My Belkin N wireless router is either on it's last legs or already went to the big electronics graveyard in, well.  China.

It just droped the connection today just, BAM.  I've tried power cycling.  The reset button doesn't work for some odd reason.  I can get a wired connection through it but forget wireless.   I also cannot navigate to the router page via my browser nor is the start up disc able to actually get anything accomplished.

Well in 4 or maybe 5 years I guess I got my $90 out of it.  I still ain't got the funds to buy a new one so I may be on here very little in the near future.

Maybe someone a little more PC savvy than I can help me out

Hardware and Tech / Problems
« on: May 02, 2013, 04:07:31 am »
This isn't a technical issue as much as it is an issue with a certain regular poster in this particular forum.  I have gone through an have been re-reading quite a few posts here.  Even though this person is trying to help. Some of the errors in their way of thinking and doing things is just, wrong.

The member I am referring to in this case is none other than myself.

I am going to be honest here and say I have no actual training in electronics repair.  What knowledge I have gained is literally from trial and error.  Mainly dis-assembly and observation of my own consoles, even the rarer ones have been dissected and their guts analyzed.

It's because of this that I am still learning my way around common problems.  Some not so difficult and others a headache and a half.  I have noticed that everyone here loves to help and I like putting minds together to find a solution to a problem.  However.  If I say something stupid.  Let me know about it please.  I look at corrections in this case as a learning experience.

And thanks to slothingXPIG I have a lot of broken consoles now to just experiment with without having to worry about compromising the functionality of my own hardware.   By the way I am not much for modding.  I am more of a restore and repair guy.   :-\

Site Feedback / Games listed pre-release.
« on: April 05, 2013, 05:44:28 am »
As the title states games listed per-release are showing up on the site.  I know it's usually not a problem and it is something we do to aspire to have a complete collection database.

I was adding some games to my collection when I found this.

I'm pretty sure this is jumping the gun a bit too much.  Especially for a game that so far is surviving on hopes and dreams alone.   Even going so far to dig up fake artwork.

I don't know maybe I am making a mountain out of a mole hill.   :-\

Modern Video Games / Atelier Ayesha
« on: February 12, 2013, 04:29:16 pm »
I have been out of the loop for a while since my internet was terminated.  I was surprised to see that a new Atelier game was being announced.  So I happily made my way over to NISA's homepage to pre-order the game to my surprise.  It's not listed.  Then to an even bigger surprise that Tecmo/Koei is the ones behind this one.  All I can say is that I have been a fan of the games since Atelier Iris on PS2.  It was fun while it lasted though.  Since it's not a hacky-slashy, brawler.  I don't see them continuing with it.

It seems that Microsoft has infringed on 4 out of 5 patents Motorola holds.

Read it here.

Hardware and Tech / Dreamcast game problem
« on: May 26, 2012, 10:08:37 pm »
Out of my small collection of DC titles.  I have problems with one in particular.  Evolution: World of Sacred Device.  It is the only one that when put into the system it either will not read or when it does play it gets to a random point in the game and crashes.  It could be right after the blue Sega logo, or transitioning between fields.  Just whenever it feels like it.  It happens with both copies.  Anyone got any ideas.

I really like this game but to be honest I'll never finish it at this rate.

General / FINISH HIM, Flawless Victory, Disassembly.
« on: May 20, 2012, 03:30:50 am »
Fifty points to the one that can identify these sad wretches.  Althought it's not that difficult, at all.   :D

I originally posted this as kind of a joke, but I got to thinking,  why not?! I could do some disassembly tutorials on the Hardware & Tech forum complete with pictures of the systems I own.  Wouldn't be the first time taking any one of them apart.  It would take a while I only have a digital camera and no way to do video.  So you would be stuck with still pictures.   :(

So what do you all think?  Yay, Nay, let me know.   8)

General / A question of the utmost, unimportance.

Since I seem to be the owner of one of these.....

I was just curious if any one here could give me some tips on some "kid friendly" basicaly pick up and play games.  Even though I grew up on video games I never paid much attention to the "childrens" games and am drawing a blank on what I could get her to play.

Shoot me dome advice on the retro consoles (pre-PSX).  I would be very grateful for any help.
