Fallout 4 looks great. Hopefully the story is better than Fallout: New Vegas.
Looking forward to games coming out on PlayStation and PC.

I shall watch be watching for most of it, with the latter hour it is supposed to go for running alongside WWE Money in the Bank, so I'll be splitting my attention, but I'll try and post the basic set up for it, the game choices, and then who wins if no one else gets to it first.

Thank you! I can pretty much cover, and keep the rest of the event updated. But not a big fan of watching gamer comp.

Is it just the Earthbound people know, or is it a remake or a collection with Mother 3? I am completely unaware of anything Earthbound related lol
*EDIT*
Answered this myself, it is Mother 1, renamed to be Earthbound Beginnings for us.

Round 2: Blastball (new game) Round 2 Elimination : Super Metroid: Beat Mother Brain and Escapee/or to live the longest.
Round 3: Mario Kart 8 Round 3 Elimination: Ballon fight - Ballon Trip

The first game is Splatoon for the NWC.
1st Elimination Game - Zelda NES - Race to beat Dungeon 1. I like this idea of new games being the main games and the oldschool games being the elimination rounds.
2nd Game - Blast Ball 3DS - Basically Space Soccer, where you shoot the ball in mech suits into a goal. Guessing this'll just be like a cheap eShop game. Game seems okay, nothing particularly special.

I agree Kam, blastball doesn't impress me, than again, I am not a soccer fan.
It's just a very basic premise and being on 3DS, it's not anything to really look at. Not that it might not be fun, but clearly a very simple experience and I could see being like 5 to 10 bucks on the eShop.
I feel like this does open up the possibility of another new game to show up? Star Fox Wii U multiplayer maybe? lol I'm guessing we'll see Smash or Mario Kart show up here as one of the main games.

Boom! Too good at this! lol
200cc gonna make this pretty nuts.
*EDIT* I want to call the next game and even though I want to lean towards another new game, I am going with Smash as the deciding game, though I don't put it past Nintendo to tease something like Star Fox Wii U at the end, like how they showed something cool at the start.
LOL Arin doing yet another last minute pass to keep himself off the bottom.

Ballon fight ? Never even heard of that haha
Title: Re: Official E3 Announcement/Discussion thread
Post by: kamikazekeeg on June 14, 2015, 07:55:11 pm
I felt Reggie didn't even try and they just wanted to show Ryu
I think Reggie did try, he just doesn't play Smash much lol
And there is still the final round and I want to say it'll be a brand new big game. Blast Ball might not have been too exciting, but it was a new game, super cool in that regard. I feel like Star Fox Wii U, but there's also the fact that we have not seen a Mario game yet. Mario Maker race could be a possibility, but I don't think that's big enough for a final game even if it is a special course.

I would have to agree, final round has to be a new game.

Yeah, it turned out to be a special Mario Maker stage. Still a possibility of something new to show up at the end, maybe as a special reward to the winner.

I am keeping, Retro Reload's facebook and twitter up to date, this forum, a gun forum i am on(lots of gamers), and personal notes for the podcast on thursday. haha.
Crappy part is, I cant pause a live event, since when i push play, it skips to where its at live, instead of where I left off. So Ill prob be watching Bethesda twice like I do this morning with Smash Bros

The Nintendo Championship (I refuse to call this "WORLD" championship since it was pretty much limited only to US residents) was very entertaining to watch, I didn't expect that! It's just too bad that the grand finale was so one-sided. Cosmo didn't look like he had played much New Super Mario :-\

Yeah it was good up to that final round where Cosmos just didn't have a clue what to do and took him forever to figure out the basic mechanics. A shame, but that is how it goes.

I agree, I wasn't expecting that at all, and that is why I didn't almost watch it. I was expecting some big ol COD style comp. Glad I watch, I hope they do it again one day soon. Very interesting, love how they mixed modern and retro games.

Dang, that Doom 4 trailer was pretty cool. Seemed like a mixture of Doom 3 and kind of the feel of the crazy arcade shooter action it originally kicked off.
And it has multiplayer now. Could be fun, though I'm not generally into the very fast paced shooter stuff like a Quake or UT.
Double Dang! It has its own ingame map/mode creator, where you can share what you can create. I wasn't expecting much from Doom 4, but I certainly have become impressed.

Fallout 4 is basically at the top of my list right now. No contest. I'm that hyped for this.
Looking back at the Bethesda event, the really only bad thing was Battlecry. Honestly surprised they showed it off. It not only looked bad, it seemed out of place. You had the big reveal of Doom 4. Fantastic graphics, crazy violence, almost MK level brutality, then there's this stylized, frankly janky look animations and cheesy cartoonish gore. It looked like a weak indie title.

It's probably at the top of mine too. That said, you just don't understand how much I loved the first Xenoblade. I wish Nintendo had pushed to get it localized & released this summer. Would have been the *perfect* summer game for me.

Now E3 can start lol With the Nintendo stuff and Fallout 4 information, I feel like I got most of what I was wanting already practically lol
The schedule for tomorrow is...
Microsoft @ 9:30AM PDT Electronic Arts @ 1:00PM PDT Ubisoft @ 3:00PM PDT Sony @ 6:00PM PDT
Interested in the Microsoft event purely to see what Rare property they are bringing back, not that I'm buying an Xbone. For EA, I'm expecting proper Star Wars Battlefront gameplay, perhaps the beta like they did with Hardline last year. Ubisoft is moving The Division to next year, so probably not expecting much with that and I don't think there's anything else from them I want. Sony I'm wanting to win me over on the PS4. There's a couple games I want on the current gen systems, but right now, I feel like I'd rather take my money I'm saving up for the PS4, to put towards Nintendo games and upgrades for my PC lol

Another long day tomorrow. I should be up by 7am (west coast time) and have my coffee... It gonna be on tv here for the M$ event so ill be recording it, and getting notes down.
I don't own a xbone, nor do i really want one anytime soon. but ill be taking notes for the show and here, and also adding any games I like to my radar. Same with the rest of the companys. If i see a new game that looks interesting, i keep a list of them till more info comes out. So either ill add em to my wish list or delete them.

I'm gonna watch it all, because it's a part of the whole festivities of E3, even if I'm not interested in Ubisoft or the Xbone lol

Looks like it be $120. Amazon twitter was saying that too.
BTW, Best Buy also has it up for preorder - http://www.bestbuy.com/site/fallout-4-pip-boy-edition-playstation-4/9634008.p?id=1219705076076&skuId=9634008
I mention this because if you're in the Gamer's Club Unlocked, that 20% off of $120 ($24, for the math impaired :P) is a nice chunk of change. ;)

I'll just modify this throughout Halo 5 - Eh never was a Halo fan
Recore actually looks really interesting. this might tip me over to buy a Xbone
Holy Shit they are adding Backwards Compatibility.
new Controller the D- pad is the only thing I'm concerned about
Didn't think Bethesda would be the one to show off the same game twice.
EA access- kind of a neat idea
Garden Warfare- (archer Voice) DANGER ZONE!!! ...other than that don't care
Forza- Not a fan of racing sims
Dark Souls 3- people who like the series will probably love it, I'm not a fan though.
Tom Clancy's stuff- Gotta feeling we'll be seeing this later
Gigantic- Like the Art style
Indie Showcase flashed by too quick
Tacoma- space survival game?
Ashen- Got kind of a vibe of the twinstick Tomb raider game
Beyond Eyes- looks like a painting
Cuphead- I love the classic Cartoon art style
Early access- NNNNOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
Ion- So high res Minecraft in Space???
Rise of the Tomb Raider- If I end up getting a Xbone I'll get it, if not I wait for the PS4, but Damn.
RARE Replay- wow basically the Sonic ultimate genesis Collection of this gen
Sea of Theives- I'll get back on that one the stream was way too choppy
Fable Legends- might check it out
Rift- Not a fan
Hololense- if it doesn't hurt my eyes like the rift could be fairly cool
Gears of War ultimate- got tired of this series, but might be interesting to revisit the first
Gears 4- Wait this isn't Resident Evil 7?
Overall opinion- Lots of games announced, Backwards compatible... I will have to get an Xbone down the road.

I need gameplay first, but with it being from Inafune, it has me interested.
Backwards compatibility is pretty crazy. Never expected that.
inafune and Metroid Prime Devs. the prime part has me interested. these are the same people who made that FPS Megaman that got cancelled. anyone else see the Irony there?

"Rare Replay" 30 classic Rare games for 30 Bucks. That's not bad. August release.
Rare's new game is a pirate MMO basically. Sea of Thieves. Not a bad showing at all, surprised to see this from Rare.

I never thought I'd have interest in getting an Xbone, or caring about Microsoft's E3 conference, but they're showing some interesting stuff.
+Backwards compatibility on the Xbone with the 360 is a plus, I just hope Sony will announce that they'll finally add backwards compatibility to the PS4. +Fallout 4 mods on PC working on the Xbone is a pretty big deal. +ReCore looks pretty cool. +Rare Replay has Banjo Kazooie, automatically making it awesome.

Not a big deal when you can play 360 games on the Xbone, since BK and BT HD are on the arcade there lol Conker though is great along with like Perfect Dark.
Okay, Hololens. That got crazy cool real fast lol No way this is actually working this well in real time lol

The only things that interested me were the Hololens, Recore, and the PC mods for Fallout 4. I'm hoping that the Rare Replay collection has a good selection of titles in it. Besides that, most of the exclusive game lineup didn't really interest me, although I'll probably get cuphead on pc.
The 360 backwards comptability is defenitely interesting, and I'd like to see how many titles they can get to work.

That's true, I just realized that it needs hardware to play the games...I was kinda excited by it, but that confuses me as I don't have a ton of digital games for the 360.
Up next is the EA conference at 4pm Eastern. I'm simply wanting to see Star Wars Battlefront gameplay. Don't think there is anything else I'm looking for other than any possible surprises.

Why is backwards compatibility such a big deal? It sounds like it's the same pick-and-choose bc they had on the 360, which they quietly stopped adding games to when they realized it wasn't a feature that sold consoles. Y'know what's 100% bc? Keeping your old console. ::)
Also, I noticed they didn't say the Fallout 4 mod feature was *exclusive* to the XBone. Won't be surprised if Sony announces it at their show tonight too. Heck, they're far more open with their platform than MS is, so I'll kinda be shocked if they DON'T support it.

Don't count your chickens before they hatch. This is selective backwards compatibility. Expect your Halo's, Gears', Fable's and other big-name, big-seller titles. More games will get added over time, but if this plays out anything like the Xbox 360's backwards compatibility, many of my favorite original Xbox games didn't make the cut.

Sony could easily implement something like this. You are basically downloading a game from the compatible title list. If you have the retail 360 disc, you have to have it in the drive for authentication while you play the game. Sony could let you play any PSNow title that you have the retail disc in the PS4's drive to authenticate you own the game.
Whether they do something like that is an entirely different matter....

This sounds different though as it seems to not require any extra effort on the part of the original developers/publishers to make it playable, they just need to say it's okay. I think we just need to hear more about the process, because it could be cool to have if its as open game wise as it was made out to be. Would make things easier than having to bring out the 360 if I had an Xbone, which I don't plan to get anytime soon.

This part makes no sense to me. When the PS2 was bc w/ the PSOne, there's no way Sony asked every single dev if it was ok for every single game. Ditto for the Wii / GC, or Wii U / Wii. My guess is MS themselves are having to modify the code somehow and that's what they're having to get permission for. So it's no extra work for the dev, but it is for *someone*.

The PS2 was fully backwards compatible (except I believe one Monster Rancher title) with PS1 games because it actually contained the original PS1 processor. The original PS3 units were fully backwards compatible with PS2 the same, as the OG PS3 contained the PS2's processor.
Microsoft is modifying software as they go. That's why there is a limited batch of titles available from the outset and why you have to download them irregardless if you have the disc. The disc has to be in the drive if you have a physical copy of the original 360 game for authentication purposes or you have to have downloaded the game from Xbox Live previously and there is a record of it. Same as how Call of Duty Ghosts for PS3 got the cheap PS4 version upgrade, but you still had to leave the disc in the drive.

Going through everything they announced and leaving off the multiplatform stuff (yes-including Rise of Tomb Raider), there are a few games that interest me. Rare Replay is probably the most enticing, but in reality it's a $30 compilation of games I (mostly) already own. I was stoked for Sea of Thieves until I started seeing more about it being an MMO. Don't have time for those.
Hololens looks interesting, but nothing I would invest major dollars into. The fact that they didn't give a release date or any indication on price says it's going to be A) Awhile before it comes out and B) Pretty damn expensive. I'm also not a huge fan of Minecraft so while the implications of what they were doing are cool, I have no interest in the game they showed.
Recore looks pretty cool and the Elite controller looks nifty. I'm sure it will be $100 retail though which will limit it's appeal, much like expensive force feedback wheels are niche.
At this point and having played these series to death, I really have no more interest in Gears, Fable or Forza. I love the lore of Halo and the Bungie games, but Halo 4 left a really bad taste in my mouth and from what I have seen of Halo 5, it looks to follow it's predecessor's footsteps.

I have to admit I really like what I've seen of the new AC game, but it's definitely not a day-1 buy for me. Curious about any unannounced titles they might show - a new Rayman maybe?

New South Park Game, Super Heroes this time. South Park: The Fractured (but) Whole. Still haven't gotten around to playing Stick of Truth lol Think I'll grab it on the Steam Sale if it gets a real good deal.
For Honor, new IP that is about Knights, Viking, and Samurai. Guy presenting this game is awesome lol Third person hack and slash, team based PVP. Like Dark Souls/Chivalry or something. Seems cool.

Fuck yeah we got the first gameplay detail of the Gears of War 4 it appears that it will be available the Holiday of 2016, still have plenty of time to save money and purchase the console and the game the day of release 8)
Oh great, more of that awful scripted dialogue gameplay for Division lol I wish they wouldn't do that, just have gameplay, we don't need to pretend that people are playing this and talking like this lol

If it is, I prob wont get it.
I'm fine with it as long as you can play it offline or the option of not getting attacked in more of a PVE setting.
Googled it and Ubisoft said you can but has no "offline support"
That's still alright, might just depend on how the game is handled. As long as it's not DayZ rough PVP, I'll still enjoy it.
And now we got singing and dancing...It's THAT portion of the Ubisoft event lol

Oh god, the streaming DLC service is starting to take over. Activision is doing this with Guitar Hero Live also.
Rainbow Six Siege stuff. Apparently the story is much bigger than what we've seen before. I thought it was just gonna be a SWAT team type experience, but it's about fighting global terror with a specially crafted unit. I appreciate the game for what it is, the destruction, the more realistic gameplay, but I'm not much for small scale combat games anymore.

Hoping Sony has a good event. It's weird when Microsoft is the one doing better for the day compared to everyone else lol Bethesda's event was amazing (Other than than Battlecry), Microsoft did a good event, EA was awful and boring, and Ubisoft got abit cringy, but was watchable.
Quick note about the Division earlier. What we saw was actually a specific mode/area in the game. The game itself is not all entirely PVP, at least that is what I'm hearing. I'm fine with that. High risk for high reward. That happening once in awhile can be cool.

How I rank it so far (since Kam did it so can I)
Super Smash: Was alright, I do want a Wii U and Smash, and would prob go get Ryu. NWC: Amazingly good, very entertaining, loved how they combo the retro and modern. Bethesda knocked it out of the park. I rarely get super pumped for a game, but my god... I want FO4 now! So far they did the best by a mile. Microsoft was decent, minecraft and the glasses thing was epic, but lets see how well that works when you actually try and use it. EA: Awful Ubisoft: Decent, few games interest me, I might go back to AC but I need to get the other two still. Sony: Hoping for a epic showing, focusing on games(unlike last year)

Last Guardian. Boom. Right from the start. Not crazy excited for it, but I'm interested. 2016 release date.
New IP from Guerilla Games. Post apocalyptic, but set like many, many years, later, no civilization, involving creatures that are like...natural roaming robots. Very weird, but I love it. Third person action game, looks really great. Horizon: Zero Dawn. Fantastic looking game.

Last Gaurdian- looks good
Horizon- Holy Shit
Hitman- Meh
Street Fighter V- never a big fan of the series. I think it would be cool if they announced a playstation exclusive character
No Mans Sky- R.I.P. anyone who's a Completionest
Dreams(?)- SAY WHAAA. I am no where near talented enough to think about getting this game
Firewatch- kinda funny
Destiny/Assassin's Creed- Bathroom Break
World of Final Fantasy- Honestly that looks like something that would be on the Wii U... wait did they just say VITA?
Final Fantasy 7- well people are going to say Sony won just from that. I'm not one of them
Devolver- way too f***ing fast
...HOLY SHIT SHENMUE
Batman- underwhelming
Morphius- Ew
COD BO 3- Double Eww
Disney infinite 3.0- Eh
Star Wars Battlefront- at this point I'm going to get burnt out on Star Wars Soon
Last Game is... Uncharted 4- I'll admit I never got into the series, looks good though

after watching xbox and sony's showings i think its safe to say the winner is the gamers. both showed some amazing games. and i will be totally honest sony had me in tears and an emotional wreck with the final fantasy VII remake video as i slowly started to realize what it was but i was still not believing it. for you who dont know FFVII is by far my fave game of all time. i never expected to get like that over news of a game.
i even thought that the COD on the ps4 looked fun. it looked different with the 4 player co-op. star wars battle front also might have won me back. i had serious worries about this game. but it looked amazing

Loving the Jim Henson look
StarFox Zero- Shut up and take my Money
Skylanders amiibo- I might get those just to have
Triforce Heroes- I like the Idea, just need to get two people to join me
Hyrule Warriors 3DS- that crossbow under Link's
Metroid prime Federation Force- knew blast ball had to be part of a bigger game
Fire Emblem Fates- GIVE ME THIS GAME ALREADY
Shin Negami X Fire Emblem- Still Really curious about this
Xenoblade Chronicles X- is it 12/4 yet?
Animal Crossing- SKIP
Animal Crossing Party???- SKIP
Yoshi's Wooly World- Too F***ing cute
Yokai Watch- Could be interesting
Paper Mario X Mario & Luigi- honestly you can't tell me you saw that coming
Mario tennis- Actually I might get this I don't get many sport style games
Super Mario Maker- can't wait for the kaizo and male parts levels. and damn that Mario Amiibo and costume amiibo
Overall: While Nintendo didn't have anything as big as the other companies at least everything they showed had Gameplay and I actually want to play most of them the only ones that didn't were the Animal crossing games and unfortunately the metroid title. Okay Apparently Platinum Games is Developing Starfox Zero

I'm no graphics whore, but Starfox looks REALLY rough to me, especially considering it must be almost finished by now if it's coming out this year. Iunno, maybe that's partially due to having seen so much SW Battlefront yesterday. :-\ Regardless, I was never really a StarFox fan.

New 3DS Zelda, Zelda: Triforce Heroes. It's basically like Four Swords, but with three Links that you can play with friends. Out this year.
Already leaked, but Hyrule Warriors Legends is coming to 3DS with all the previous DLC characters and the new Wind Waker ones. 1st Quarter 2016.
And all metroid fans just imploded because the new Metroid game is a multiplayer 3DS experience with no actual Samus in it XD
Fire Emblem Fates 2016.
The Fire Emblem cross shin megami game is also out next year.
Xenoblade Chronicles X out December 4th.
Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, September 25th.
And now...Animal Crossing...Mario Party thing? I don't think this was the new Animal Crossing people want lol Animal Crossing Amiibos.
Yokai Watch 3DS game, this year.
Yoshi Wooly World October 16th.
Mario & Luigi Paper Jam for 3DS Spring 2016.
Mario Tennis Ultra Smash Wii U game out this holiday season.

Super Mario Maker will have an 8 Bit Mario Amiibo, just makes Mario bigger, and you can use your Amiibo's to transform Mario into a sprite version of the character in game. September 11th release.
Not a big end for them, but generally a good event. Bummed there was no Fatal Frame release date and nothing for Metroid, but I'm definitely grabbing Star Fox Zero, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Yoshi Wooly World, Super Mario Maker, Zelda: Tri-Force Heroes, and possibly the Fire Emblem X Shin Megami game depending on its gameplay style.

Honestly, feeling pretty underwhelmed by Nintendo's event. No news on the DX...whatever it may end up actually being. Several games that we already knew about and a few new exclusives, mostly for the 3DS. Where is the Wii U love?
Mario Maker looks great and if you can indeed share & play levels online, this could be endless fun. Xenoblade Chronicles X looks good and I will be following that.
Want Metroid? Hope some 3DS will tide you over. No news on a console version.
I'm sure I'll catch crap for it, but in summary, I think Nintendo's presser sucked. The biggest announcement IMO was the Skylanders crossover but it begs the question: Why didn't Nintendo just make their own Skylanders-style title where your Amiibo's would put that character into a Nintendo-designed title?

It didn't suck, it was your standard good Nintendo conference, it just didn't have any huge news and mostly ended up being just a lot of dates for what we knew. It's certainly no Sony presser, that's for sure, but it was good enough. A couple big surprises would've been nice though as I wanting another Zelda HD remake and possibly hinting at a new proper big 3D mario game.
Square conference now. Man, after the fun Nintendo event, this guy hosting it is boring lol
Just Cause 3 info. Gonna be a fun game.

It's all just individual opinion Kamikazekeeg. Like you said, it didn't have any huge news and mostly ended up being just a lot of dates for what we knew. They didn't show any new Wii U titles. They didn't even show Devil's Third which IMO is one of the most interesting Nintendo-published titles to come along.
For me, Nintendo just continues to churn out sequels/remakes/successors to the same franchises over and over. While Nintendo assuredly makes some of the most balanced, fun games...I have to ask myself is it worth it to buy another $60 game that pretty much is a cut & paste of past games from that series?

Hardly seeing cut & paste here. Star Fox Zero is the game people have been wanting for awhile. Super Mario Maker is a creation game. Yoshi's Wooly World has an all new design to it from previous games. Fire Emblem games. Xenoblade chronicles X. Plenty fresh to me.
Not saying Nintendo couldn't have done better, but we mostly got what we were expecting and some new treats and was well handled.

What did they say about KH3? any release dates? (at work so I have no access to E3 stream.
I'm keeping a friend of mine up to date, so I'll tell you what I told him:
Quote
* They just faked out a lot of people - guy mentioned Kingdom Hearts and said "first let's watch this new video" - and it was a mobile game. Very little scattered applause at the end, that's clearly not what people wanted to see. :P
* Ok, NOW he's showing some KH3, so I think the crowd might let him live. Footage showed a new world based on the movie Tangled, actual gameplay footage. I gotta say, it looks amazing. I'm not even THAT big of a KH fan and that really got me hyped for the game.
No release date. :(

I thought it was a very solid show - new Nier announcement, new footage for Just Cause 3, Kingdom Hearts 3 and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and word that they're working on a new IP (no, they didn't show anything from it really, but IMO it's good just to know they're still working on some new IPs). Oh, and an official US release announcement for Star Ocean: Integrity & Faithlessness with some new footage.
I'd rank the conferences like this (not having seen Microsoft's):
1) Sony 2) Bethesda 3) Square-Enix 4) Ubi-Soft 5) Nintendo
...with a bigger gap between 4 & 5 than the rest of them.

fighterpilot562, keep in mind that the FF7 they were talking about for next Spring is the port of the old PC version, NOT the remake. No date was given for the remake, it's still a ways off.
EDIT: Forgot about EA, they would be dead last for me too.

Heavy emphasis on the "ish" part, you handsome snake. ^o^v
Honestly, I was trying to hold out as long as possible since there were a bunch of PS3 games that needed my attention and since dropping 400 dollars on a console instead of some lovely new games is always difficult. When I get the PS4, it's going to open the floodgates for a whole new set of games that will require my attention.

This is a list I compiled of games coming out this year that I actually want to get. Despite the strong showing of Sony, they didn't actually have much coming out this year and all their big stuff won't be anytime soon. Wii U is killing it this year. I plan to get a PS4 still, but it's clear I can wait till next year when all the big games actually come out.
Fallout 4 - November 10th Xenoblade Chronicles X - December 4th Super Mario Maker - September 11th Star Fox Zero - Holiday 2015, probably November. Star Wars Battlefront - November 17th Zelda: Tri-Force Heroes - Fall 2015 Yoshi Wooly World - October 16th Fatal Frame - Fall 2015

Joining the ranks of you that got sold a PS4 last night. Sony's conference was freaking outstanding.
Way too many amazing games for both the PS4 and non-exclusives... I'm going to HAVE to shell out for F4 (even though I didn't like F3, Bethesda sold me as hell on F4), Doom... Last Guardian...
I'm actually really thankful that Nintendo didn't wow me too much this morning, I can't afford two new systems in the next calendar year haha

Oh, I'm sure it is. I just wanted to hold out longer. I'll be getting it just for Star Ocean 5, but knowing I can play the PS4 version of ToZ, Shenmue 3, and a few other cross-platform titles is a small comfort. Also, I'll finally be able to play Omega Quintet.

Definitely not, it's a day-1 buy for me. Loved the first one. :)
This is how the rest of my gaming year looks, as of right now:
June Batman: Arkham Knight LE Onechanbara Z2: Chaos Devil May Cry 4 HD (import) One Piece: Pirate Warriors (import)
July Ar Nosurge Plus LE
September Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain CE Mad Max (not 100% decided, but most likely) Mighty No. 9 CE
October Dragon Quest Heroes Tales of Zesteria (I hate to say it, but this has become a "maybe" because it's releasing so close to F4 :-\)
November Fallout 4 - Pipboy Edition Trackmania Turbo (probably)
December Xenoblade Chronicles X (might ask for this for Christmas, depending on where I am in F4 at the time)

I'll keep up on the news, but I won't be as detailed as you have been lol
Rising Storm 2: Vietnam announced.
Star Citizen video. No new information.
AMD dude, gonna talk about the expensive graphics we all should get right now lol
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided talk. While I'm not interested in the game, I do like that the game talk here and with Killing Floor 2 is about the benefits of playing on PC with the better tech.
Total War CGI video celebrating the series, terrible song choice for it, and then talk of Total War: Warhammer.
Phil Spencer/Microsoft stuff. HOLY CRAP! Killer Instinct on PC! Now I have even less of a reason to get an Xbone lol Talk of Gigantic, Fable Legends, and they just announced Gears of War Ultimate Edition for PC.
Biggest announcement of the night! American Truck Simulator. And the internet wept with joy. Half-Life 3? Childish. American Truck Simulator? Your new lord and master.
EVE: Valkyrie and Oculus support talk.
Dean Hall (DayZ creator) talking more about Ion. Diablo style view.
Strafe Live Demo. Basically an old Quake/Doom styled game, even down to the very blocky/polygonal design.
Pillars of Eternity expansion. The White March: Part 1.
Might've missed something after Pillars of Eternity, but I came back with Planet Coaster. Rollercoaster sim. Out next year.
Guild Wars 2 Heart of Thorns expansion talk. This guild hall stuff is way more impressive than I expected. You aren't just building a nice big house, it's literally an entire map. It is basically a raid dungeon that your guild has to capture and then you can rebuild and expand. Pretty neat.
Hitman discussion.

Finally the show is over. I will say, fantastic presentation, good host, this is great for PC gaming, but 2 and a half hours is kind of a ridiculous time and there's so much they could've cut out. Next year, I think they cut it down to maybe more like an hour and a half long and it'll be great.

I loved the format! I thought the talk show format was a great way to get developers talking about their games in a less scripted way- although it was kinda funny when one of the devs (I forget which) came out on the stage and just stood there and started talking and then showed a trailer then left. I guess he missed the memo?
There is probably a lot they could have cut, but when you're looking at a platform as broad as the PC, there's a lot to cover there. Maybe if they'd done an hour to an hour and a half in two segments over different days?

I feel like they could've cut out a lot of the repeat stuff from games that had already been shown a few times before and just done a short sizzle reel of the PC features unless they were getting something special. Definitely loved the format though. More of this, less of what Square did lol

Sorry for posting this again, but I realized I originally posted it in the wrong thread:
So Nintendo was just one big disappointment. I almost want to sell my Wii U because there's like nothing to look forward to now. And where are all the third-party games they were talking about having for E3? :(
Oh, and deathmatch Metroid...WTF?! We want a proper Metroid game!!!

We will bring it here haha.
The two worst ones were EA and Square.... Square was boring and dragged on. Felt like I was back in high school.
Bethesda was the best IMO.
But I do want a Wii U, got my list of games i want and its always increasing. But we all have different taste haha.

I feel like Square's presentation would have been better with less talking and more gameplay/ videos that aren't the same as before. EA had some very weird moments, and I can't believe they spent a bunch of time talking about a Minions mobile game.
Anyways, I think Nintendo could have done more to show the games coming out this year ( although they may be thinking of doing direct closer to those release dates I dunno), and there aren't many third party games coming out either like Devil's Third ( should have talked about it).. Thankfully, I think the exclusives for Wii U such as SMT x FE and Mario Maker give it an advantage in variety over Microsoft and Sony's exclusives at the moment.

I still have yet to watch Square's presentation. Last one left for me. I'm hoping, if nothing else, they give us a full trailer for the FF7 remake. We only got a teaser at the Sony Conference.

The trailer they showed for the FF7 remake was the exact same trailer you saw at the Sony Conference. They mostly just talked about how it would be different from the original game.

So I was talking to a friend yesterday, and I pitched this conspiracy theory: we haven't seen a truly NEW Mario game on the Wii U that wasn't an iteration of one of the other games - nothing like Mario Galaxy. We haven't seen a Metroid period, and we *know* Retro is working on something. And now Zelda's been delayed. What are the odds they are building their launch lineup for the NX?
On the Square conference, I don't get the hate. Unless of course you just didn't care for the games they showed, which were mostly JRPGs. Did the presenters sing & dance? No, but I don't give a crap about that - the footage they showed was really good IMO. Yes, FF7 & World of FF were repeats from Sony's show, but AFAIK the footage we saw for Just Cause 3, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and Hitman was all new. And I know the Star Ocean: Integrity & Faithlessness and the Kingdom Hearts 3 footage was brand new.

How I rank them:
Bethesda (knocked it out on the park) Nintendo WC (really good, would watch again if they kept that format) Sony Nintendo Microsoft Ubisoft EA PC Square
System Count of games I want or interested in. (If releasing on multi systems, ps4 gets it)
PS4: 20 Wii U: 4 Xbox One: 5 3DS: 2

And Wii U owners get shafted in the meantime. Thanks for supporting your existing user-base, Nintendo. I think if they do that, they should release them multiplatform, like they did the Resident Evils and Zeldas between GameCube and Wii.

Sooooo I just pre-ordered 10 games on Amazon... I pre-ordered more than I would have, since they have their "30% off on 3 or more pre-orders" promotion :) And since it's Amazon, if I decided I didn't want one of these games, I can just cancel it before release.
The discount is definitely worth it: (https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/73lo07YKblSSGdfT793eXo-NTy-MXavVmkATfGYo17Fg=s954-no)

Whats up with (GST/HST) & (PST/QST) tax? Is that like territory and city tax?
GST is the federal tax, and PST is the Quebec provincial tax.
For those curious, the games are:
Fire Emblem: Fates (3DS) Hyrule Warriors (3DS) Kingdom Hearts III (PS4) Legend of Zelda U (Wii U) Legend of Zelda: TriForce Heroes (3DS) Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam (3DS) Tearaway Unfolded (PS4) Super Mario Maker (Wii U) Sword Art Online: Lost Song (Vita) Yoshi's Woolly World (Wii U)
And I find this whole thing kinda funny because (as far as I remember) I've never had more than 2 games pre-ordered at any given time :P I already have Persona 4 Dancing All Night pre-ordered too, and Persona 5 is next on the list as soon as it's possible to pre-order it.

My list for this year is looking pretty great right now.
Fallout 4 - November 10th Xenoblade Chronicles X - December 4th Super Mario Maker - September 11th Star Fox Zero - Holiday 2015, probably November. Star Wars Battlefront - November 17th Zelda: Tri-Force Heroes - Fall 2015 Fatal Frame - Fall 2015 Mad Max - September 1st MGSV: Phantom Pain - September 15th Just Cause 3 - December 1st
And those are just my big main gets. There are also a few lesser titles I might look at eventually and a couple I might have missed. Good year.

That said I placed not one. Not two. But 3 preorders today at Best Buy.
Mario Maker Star Fox Zero Xenoblade Chronicles X
All the stuff that has me wanting a PS4 or XBONE (with the exception of Rare Replay) won't be out until next year or later.

Why are all the Paper Mario games going exclusively to handheld these days? That's pretty disappointing. Would rather play it on Wii U. They put Kirby Rainbow Curse on Wii U, and Paper Mario on DS. What where they thinking? It's like you want to play the game?? Here, play it on the wrong format for optimized gameplay!
Been watching too much Nerd again. But this is lame.

Nintendo's E3 Digital event was underwhelming and it was a repeat of games already announced in the past. But it wasn't terrible. But I am blown away by how people instantly got upset and brought on the doom and gloom thinking the Wii U is dead. They need to just have faith and calm down. Perhaps there will be another Direct later on this year.

There have been a good number of people pushing the whole " Nintendo is doomed" thing for a long time for lots of reasons; I wouldn't pay too much attention to that. I do think though that they are giving hints that they'll be moving on in a year or two. I honestly think that they should have done more to promote games that we haven't seen yet in the e3 digital event, and it seems like some of the stuff they didn't mention in the direct was presented later on such as the new fatal frame. Some of the bigger releases will get talked about in future directs, and they most likely will have multiple just for the new games coming out for fall and winter.

Nintendo is doomed every generation, by the same people who were sold an XBone by this conference. I've said it before and I'll say it again:
Nintendo are growers, not showers. You get their systems for a small handful of masterfully crafted first party games each year, and by the end of each year your collections for competitors may be larger, but there are far more classics from Nintendo.
Also E3 has never traditionally been where Nintendo drops its bombs. They take care of their home front before they worry about America.
