I picked up a CIB SNES Cleaning Kit for $10 at my local game store. I'd say they slipped up a little bit with that one, it's a nice display item.  :)

Dang I got lucky! I was at a toy store today and they had MadWorld brand new just lying around in a bargain bin for €8,50! This game always looked interesting to me, and now that thanks to Bayonetta and Metal Gear Rising Revengeance I've fallen in love with PlatinumGames I just had to get it! What a steal!

Also picked up a Wii U screen protector. I don't even have a Wii U yet, but I'm going to get one in the not-so-distant future and €3,50 isn't much for a screen protector and stylus.

About a handful of times since I've been collecting, I have had periods of time, usually lasting a month or so where I am showered with excellent deals on pretty rare and uncommon games. Last week it was some very hard to find DS games and today...well, take a look.

I had an event to go to way up north and there are a few excellent game stores in the area I was in so of course I had to swing by and take a look at them. Ended up finding some really rare games at them, all well below ebay price. The one that floored me the most was City of Lost Children which I have never seen until today in person and it was going for about half of Ebay. Also was very excited to find a Time Crisis Project Titan big box as well since these things are hard to find.

Red Star is a hidden-gem you hardly hear anyone talk about. Very fun shoot-em up & beat-em up in one. Great find on that one!

Been awhile since I got to post anything here! Me and my local gamer group did a combined fleamarket event, selling stuff at cheaper than reseller value for most stuff while also looking for deals.  Me and my buddy at one point later in the morning were wandering around a farther out section of the flea market where they have a few larger garage sale booths and we stumbled upon an entire box filled with about a dozen or so mostly complete Intellivision games (Boxes are abit rough), an Intellivision, and like a half dozen Atari games.  No crazy deals, but for 35 bucks, it's not too bad really.  We aren't entirely sure how well it works, couldn't test it at our booth, but I just feel happy finding something cool like that.

Not a lot from garage sales this last week, It's been cold and rainy.

Got the RetroUSB AVS Nintendo, I was hoping this would play some of the PAL games I have that don't play well on the top loader NES. While you can switch the settings to PAL, it won't play on my HDTV. oh well, still looks great.

PS4
- Dragon Fantasy
- Onechanbara ZII Chaos (on a clearance table for $8)

XBone
- Forza Horizon 3 - Ultimate (with controller stand)
- Framing Simulator 15 (on clearance for $5)

Vita
- Dragon Fantasy

PS3
- Destiny (on clearance for $4)

XB360
- The Evil Within (on clearance for $4)

SNES
Found these I needed at a used game store for cheaper then online.
- Rapjam Volume One
- Ultima: The Black Gate
They also sold me a small stack of manuals for $2.

GBC
A used book store had these for $5 for all 3.
- Madden NFL 2002
- Walt Disney World Magical Racing Tour
- Snoopy Tennis

At the only garage sale I found games at, the sale advertised "Video Games" on craigslist and had pictures. I could see a ton of classic and newer games with individual prices. I knew this was going to be a seller or collector. I get there and he had everything just under Ebay. I was able to talk him into a decent deal for the few games I was interested in.
SNES
- Capcom Arcade Fighting Stick ($5)
GG
- Ax Battler: A Legend of Golden Ax ($5)
NES
I saw these and was surprised, Don't see hack games at garage sales.
- Tecmo Super Bowl 2K9 ($15)
- Tecmo Super Bowl 2K10 ($15)

Not a lot this week, garage sales sucked and not I wanted to buy this week.

My first buys this month just happen to be on my wedding anniversary so my wife and I took a day trip and went to another of my favorites haunts.

GB:
Mega man Wily's Revenge

N64:
Cruis'n Exoctia
NFL Blitz
San Francisco Rush
Rush 2

PSP:
Crazy Taxi Fare Wars
Death Jr.
Darkstalkers Chronicle The Chaos Tower

PS3:
The Last of Us
Ratchet & Clank Future Tools of Destruction Greatest Hits

Sega Dreamcast:
Bang! Gunship Elite
Disney's 102 Dalmatians Puppies to the Rescue

I always try to get a least one dreamcast game when I'm there. He's one of the few that has them in stock and they are always way underbooked. Same goes for PSP games.

More of a digital acquisition here, but for the PC game Team Fortress 2, I managed to snag a Green Confetti Mann of Reason. This now ties me in a tie for 3rd for largest single effect collection in the community.

Having Tears for Fears stuck in your head is like having a wad of banknotes stuck in your wallet - nice. Must admit Head Over Heels and Everybody Wants to Rule the World are my faves, but Mad World's tasty.

Last week I got a few interesting finds, a few Xbox 360 FPS I don't have already (Quake Wars, one of the Unreals), got a boxed Beatmania PS1 controller/game, also got a Corvo from Dishonored face mask made from plasticky/fibreglass material, there's a crack on the bottom of the chin, but you can't see it if the mask is on the wall for instance. Not sure if the mask is a promotional item, part of a special edition set or a hand-made thing. Intend to get a few photos up, maybe you guys can shed some light. Intend to wall-mount it somewhere.

I finally got a SNES today :D   I caved in and reminded myself. All this time SNES always kept slipping me lol. I'm so excited to have all my childhood memories back in my collection. :)

I also got Super Mario World cart with a Manual. I might piece out a box separate down the road.

Does anyone have any reccomendations for lesser known, odd ball games to seek for SNES? :)  I already know a lot of the cult classics but I want to keep my eye out for lesser known gems that are worth trying :D

This is an expensive road to go down, that SNES collecting.

You can't go wrong with the Disney games.  I'm big on those right now.  Aladdin, Magical Quest, Maui Mallard

Plok is another good one.

Then there's all the usual suspects: Super Metroid, Super Punch-Out!!, Yoshi's Island, Link to the Past... etc

Off the top of my head, I'd suggest Aerobiz (and it's sequel, Aerobiz Supersonic), Metal Warriors (one of the best Multiplayer games for the SNES in my opinion), Metal Marines, Twisted Tales of Spike McFang, Tin Star, & U.N. Squadron

Super Metroid, Link to the Past, Donkey Kong Country, and Super Mario World are MUST HAVES if you own a SNES. They're usual suspects for a reason. I'd still put those titles up against any modern-day title. I'd say Chrono Trigger, as well, but that's getting into the ridiculous price-range, just get it on Nintendo eShop if you have a Wii U or 3DS.

It was $36 (free shipping). Ducktales 1 plays at hyper speed. Everything else plays fine. Little Samson is the famicom version in Japanese. Everything else is in English. It has a simple menu to select the game. It must be protected as a Pal region game because it only works in my nes that has its lockout chip disabled.

5 minutes in to Little Samson, I'm not regretting it. I already have Ducktales 1 & 2 legit.

Need to know where did you buy this beauty also is there anyway to change the titles for another ones ?, in the other hand I do need to return to the physical copies cause my latest two purchases were again digital, finally after a couple of months decided to add to my collection Sonic & Knuckles (http://info.sonicretro.org/Sonic_%26_Knuckles_%28Xbox_Live_Arcade%29) and most because of my daughter, still can belive that she love this character more than Mario but is her choice and I respect that also added Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tekken_Tag_Tournament_2) to the collection even when the one that I really want to play is the seven part of this franchise also have purchased another two costumes for my ladies of DOA5  ;D

FINALLY got a Wii U!
What a steal! This practically new Wii U, with Super Smash Bros. and two more games for just 160! Combine that with that I won't have to buy Smash anymore (which I would've done for sure if I didn't get it with the console), and that's a pretty good bargain!...if not for one thing.
I knew the basic model had very little internal memory, but I wasn't expecting it to be this bad! I couldn't even install the Smash update on a completely empty system! Guess I misread the filesize of that update online. I don't have any HDDs with external power supplies just lying around, so I had to plug in a 16gb USB-stick until I get an USB-Y cable (which should come in tuesday) for my regular HDD. I hope it sticks with me for those couple of days...
While I was really annoyed at first by these and some other problems (like the INCREDIBLY slow downloading and installing), this all faded when I started playing. Already had Bayonetta 2 laying here as well, so between that and Smash I have enough to play for now :D

I will update with a list in a bit.

This is my Saturday finds.

So this was a long day.  A really long day.  We were out from 7am to 11pm, mostly driving all day.  My wife wanted to go visit family in a small town about 2 hours away, so we picked up her grandmother to tag along.  Her cousin insisted he wanted to come too.  Visited for about 2 hours and then we went hunting.  I made sure everyone who came with knew that was the plan all along, visit folks, then go hunting.  I made it abundantly clear because I knew everyone but me would be bored out of their mind.  Grandma sat in the car the entire time.  My wife did too except one instance.  Her cousin followed along with me, no clue if he was bored out of his mind.

Went to a couple of pawn shops that only seemed to have modern games, no prices marked, so I moved along.  Went to the last pawn shop in small town A.  They actually had ps2 and xbox games.  They said $4 a game, I offered $3 if I bought 10.  So I picked out a bunch of games, grabbed a few more modern games which were $5/ea and $10 for the wii u game.

PS2
Pimp my ride
Fantavision
Snoopy vs the red baron
Midway Arcade Treasures
.Hack..G.U. Vol. 3 Redemption :)

Xbox
Black
Darkwatch
Enter the Matrix
Mafia

Wii U
Tank Tank Tank!

PS3
White Knight Chronicles International Edition

360
Spiderman Shattered Dimensions
Project Sylpheed Arc of deception

As I was heading out I remembered to ask about retro stuff.  They pulled out a small box and said $5 ea.  Mostly sports games, but I grabbed 2.

WWF Steel Cage Challenge (NES)
Hexen (N64)

Decided to go back to the first pawn shop and ask about retro games since they are affiliated with the last one.  No retro, said they sell that stuff immediately when they get it.  *shrug*  They did have some PS2 games, $1/ea.  And grabbed a couple of other games at $3-5/ea

PS2
Need for Speed: Most Wanted
Burnout 3

360
WarTech

PS3
Time Crisis Razing Storm

PSP
Tekken Dark Resurrection
Need for Speed Carbon
Naruto 3

Made our way to our final destination town, one of the smaller cities in Texas, or one of the bigger towns if you want.  Hit the first pawn shop.  old games $1/ea.  last gen are 5/$10.  So I grabbed 10 last gen games and a couple of xbox games.  I kept telling the lady the manager said 5/$10, she insisted that he must have meant $5 for the whole stack.  Eventually I stopped arguing and just paid.

Xbox
Monster Garage
Hitman 2
Driver Parallel Lines

360
Afro Samurai
Xcom enemy unknown
Venetica
Chrome Hounds
Soldier of Fortune Payback
Crysis 3
Bioshock 2
Rise of Nightmares
Ninnja Gaiden II

PS3
Two Worlds II

Went and hit the Gamestop down the road, was surprised to see that they still had a wall section for DS games, large enough to compete with the 3DS section, mostly CIB.  Only grabbed one of those, but I did find a PS3 game I've been looking for with the booklet.  The Hyrule Warriors guide was pennied out, so I got it for a penny

Escape the Museum (NDS)
Bourne Conspiracy (PS3)
Kung-fu Rider (PS3)
Hyrule Warriors Legends Guide

Stopped at the local hastings electronics in this town because they are going out of business.  Bought the giant stack of comics for under $20, about $5 total for the graphic novels.  Grabbed the Firefly card game even though it's horrible.  Grabbed a bunch of anime on BD/DVD, that was the majority of the cost, even at 60% off.  Going to go to a few more Hastings today and see what they got.  I saw a lot of shows I was interested in, but they were sub only and I'm not a fan of that.  I'm hard of hearing, so subs are useful to me as it is, but subs make me focus on reading over watching what's actually happening.  We'll see, maybe I'll pick up a subbed show that really interests me and go from there.  Probably not though.  I hate to support these cheap licensing companies when they lazily release the japanese version, usually with shotty subs, and call it a day.  Which is sad, because I am really hoping for a dub of S2 + OVA of Squid Girl.

Blu-Ray
Hyperdimension Neptunia
Nyan-koi
Strawberry Marshmallow

DVD
.hack Legend of the Twilight
Negima!?
Shattered Angels
Baka & Test S2 + OVA

Finally on to the last place before heading back to town.  A small mall that has a store in it that allegedly sells video games.  I saw the store and the first thing I saw through the glass was a bunch of CIB Saturn games.  I immediately went to it and grabbed Road Rash because it was a good price.  I went to ask about Sega CD games or other moderately uncommon platforms.  Nopers.  Noticed they had signs for B2G1 on everything.  Well I saw the price on the Saturn game and had high hopes that they had good prices all around.  Somehow, only the Saturn games had good prices.  $90 for Mario kart 64.  $10 for sports games.  Everything was absolutely whack except the Saturn games, so I grabbed a bunch of similarly priced Saturn games.  I had to check out twice because they wanted to give me 2 $10 games for free instead of doing a $10 and a $15.  After the fact, I think they may have had Paladin's Quest for SNES marked at $18, which wouldn't have been bad, but oh well.

Saturn
Scorcher
Bust A Move 2 Arcade Edition
Road Rash
Virtua Racing
Pro-Pinball
Machine Head

I just made a deal on a $100 XBone. What games should I get that I can't get on PS4?

-Halo 5: Guardians- If you like Halo, you'll enjoy it. If you don't, don't bother. It's still Halo.

-Halo: The Master Chief Collection - Halo 1-4 Remastered in HD. Halo 1 being the Anniversary Edition.

-The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing (digital download) - Plays a lot like Diablo or Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance in that it's a hack-n-slash RPG, with a big focus on loot. But set in a gothic, Victorian-English setting battling monsters and demons and such.

-Rare Replay - A collection of Rare games from the ZX Spectrum up through XBox 360 titles, including NES and N64 offerings, among others.

-Ryse: Son of Rome - Fantastic action-game that's a bit quick to play-through by modern standards. Think God of War, but more cinematic, and set in Ancient Rome rather than Ancient Greece.

I also would recommend Killer Instinct, specifically the definitive edition. If you enjoy fighting games and loved the original KI games, go for it!
Also, Sunset OverDrive is fun. And Um....Forza?

Well this was an odd get for me from the retro game store.  I did some trades and had money to spare and saw that he had a Brutal Legend advertisement! I love this game, an absolute favorite, so I had to have this, even though I don't have the room lol He tried to mix in a sale with the Prototype advertisement, but I don't care enough about it to have, but when all was said and done, when I bought Brutal Legend, he just told me to take it to get rid of it lol I got no room for either, but I'll see if anyone locally wants it for free.  The top section is kinda cool actually, being slightly translucent around the edges.  I'd almost keep just that part if I had room.

Also grabbed Dragon Quest Builders on PS4, though probably won't play it too much for awhile with the Overwatch Halloween event happening and Shadow Warrior 2 out in 2 days.

Well garage sale season is pretty much over here. There was only a few this weekend but I found nothing.
Spent too much this weekend anyway. lol
Here's what I did pick up in the last 2 weeks.

PS4
- The Playstation VR Launch Set  ;D
I tried it out and I was impressed how well it looked. Its light and easy to set up.
My only issue is the games out for it at the moment feel like they are all tech demos.
- Playstation VR Worlds (came with headset)
- Playstation VR Demos (came with headset)
- Batman Arkham VR
- Until Dawn: Rush of Blood
Also got in the mail...
- Thomas Was Alone
- Mystery Chronicle One Way Heroics

VITA
- Thomas Was Alone
- Mystery Chronicle One Way Heroics
- Criminal Girls 2 - Limited Edition with Party Bag
- Valkyrie Drive with Limited Edition (kinda disappointed the game is not inside the collector's box)

XBone
- Mafia III - Collector's Edition
- Gears of War 4 - Ultimate Edition

Picked these up from my local used game store.
PS2
- Resident Evil 4 - Premium Edition
- Persona 3 (complete with artbook and Soundtrack
- Growlancer Generations Deluxe (complete everything it had is in the box.)

A local used book store had a bunch of games marked at $2-$3, I picked out these.
XB360
- Phantasy Star Universe
Wii
- Barbie The Island Princess
NDS
- De Blob 2
- Jane's Hotel (sealed)
PS2
- SOCOM 3
XB
- Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
- Robotech Battlecry
- Goldeneye: Rouge Agent
GEN
- Hardball (CIB)

SNES
And last a game I just wanted to play, It's one of those games you really can only own a reproduction due to an original is not even known if it exists. lol If you don't know what this game is look up the AVGN review on it.  :P
- Hong Kong 97

I picked up Touhou Gensou Rondo: Bullet Ballet from Gamestop. It was $49.99 and the bar code when put into Amazon shows it to be the Limited Edition but when I look at pictures of it on their site and on the NIS site, it seems to be lacking a bigger outer box. The box I have is the same size as a Blu-Ray box but like 3x thicker. I haven't opened it yet to see if it has all of the contents inside (I'm assuming I did but from the pics it looks like the box is bigger than the case?). Anyone with a copy purchased from NIS able to help me out?  :P

While on Vacation in Kaua'i Hawaii I stoped by the only GameStop on the island.

It was interesting to see how supply and demand shapes the prices.

I saw many games here that are simply nowhere to be found on the mainland.

Stuff I saw but passed up: Fire Emblem all the recent ones. Trails of Cold Steel, Alan Wake, Giana Sisters, And lots more.

Here's what I left with:

PS3
Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition Steel Book
Ratchet and Clank All4One

PS4
Ratchet and Clank

PS Vita Screen Protectors

Renewed my GameStop membership.

Paid about $50 total.

My observation was new games are much more expensive than on the mainland. Probably due to demand outstripping supply.

But quality used games are more abundant and cheaper than on the mainland. Probably due to supply outstripping demand.

Really happy about the RE5 Steel Book. The bonus disk is all making of and behind the scenes stuff.

The funny thing is that the RE5 Steelbook is supposed to be for the regular RE5 collector's edition, so you got pretty lucky that they stuck the gold edition in there ( estenitally a GOTY version of RE5).

Hit up the flea markets on Sunday, managed to find some water/filler titles.

First Flea:
1080 Avalanche (GC) $4 (booth had it marked 50% off)
MotoGP 2 (PS2) $2 (same booth)

Second Flea:
Bottom of the 9th (SAT)
World Series Baseball (SAT)
NFL '97 (SAT)
Links (Sega CD) - $15 for all 4, talked down from $20. I get that they're Saturn/Sega CD games and prices across the board are starting to creep up but they're still sports games.  :P The guy did have a Complete in Box Coleco Adam that had the system, printer, and who knows what else in it. The thing also had the original shipping box that it came in. He wanted $130 for it but I didn't have anywhere near that on me so I had to leave it there.

Hit up a few GameStop locations on the way back but walked out empty handed each time. All of the lower price stuff was either garbage titles I didn't want or stuff I already had.

One of the GS stores was down plaza from a Best Buy. Went in there not expecting to find anything and walked out with 3 Amiibo figures I've been wanting for a while now.

Pit (not Dark Pit)
Golden Mario (apparently no longer a Wal-Mart exclusive)
Lucina (no sign of Robin though  :()

I can only assume them being there means that Nintendo finally got around to reissuing them. Not only that but the GCU worked on them.  :D Take that you scumbag flippers/scalpers!  ;D

Last stop was a Half Price Books and in the case they had 5 boxed NES games. I can only remember the two I picked up and a Tetris 2 which I already had. The ones I picked up were The Addams Family and Bugs Bunny Birthday Blowout. Both were missing manuals but I had the book for Bugs Bunny so I was able to make it complete. They were $15 and $10 respectively.

I'm a pretty avid PC gamer, have been for 16 years now, so I do like to collect for PC when I can, though not as often since I rely alot on digital games and plus a lot of PC games within the past half a dozen or more years now are basically unplayable used due to online keys, but I like to grab them when I can, especially when they are a buck each! Probably the best thing about PC gaming is that it can be incredibly cheap to collect for, more so than many other systems.

What a bargain but I guess that you already know how much is this game quoted at eBay or Amazon anyway I found in a garage sale a copy of Dante's Inferno (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dante%27s_Inferno_%28video_game%29) for $ 13.50 the good thing is since that it was purchased locally haven't had to paid for the delivery and the bad thing is that didn't came with the manual, will try to search for it later cause right now is not a priority also have purchased another costume for Kasumi and almost a year finally decided to purchase Honoka, now I have to see if there are some good costumes for her  ;D

It's the proper Battlefield 1 release day, so grabbed that.  Bit surprised by it being purely a code in a case, even on PC.  Normally, you still get a disc and then you like install it and have to download the rest, common for modern PC gaming, but to get a case that has no DVD slot in it at all, getting just 3 pieces of paper in it is strange.  Not against digital releases, I do it all the time on PC, and even if disks are usually useless on PC, it still feels abit weird to buy it like this lol  Really was just buying it for the case for my collection since I own most BF games.

You got the Zelda CDI games for free? I mean, it's the only way anyone should get them for how ridiculously expensive they are and also being hot garbage, but that's real cool you got them that way.  They are the only Zelda things I will not get for my collection, even if the art for the first two games aren't half-bad lol

Was a pretty awesome deal the games were 7,50 a pop also some less pretty zelda versions and hotel mario and even those games alone sell for more than what I paid for the lot it's pretty insane that even hotel mario is around 40 dollars and not to mention some other valuable cdi titles wich sell for around 20 a piece or more such as christmas crisis and the last bounty hunter etc.

The funny thing is that i managed to snagg zelda's adventure twice in that very week for bargains it's insane, my copy is pretty much mint though and yes I made a nice profit while keeping em even without the 2nd zelda's adventure :p

As for quality titles I'd have to say this was my worst week by far :p Fortunately I made some awesome deals with good titles wich I'll show next week. I already have some nice titles wich came in already but I'll post those along with next weeks pick ups.

Went to a retro gaming meetup today and umm, well I went a little crazy. Everything was a great deal, but yeah, there were so many excellent games I wanted that this was literally being selective with just what you see here. All the console boxes are just boxes with no consoles, but they were all free, even the PS1 rental case was free.

I was just talking in my marketplace thread about wanting big box PC games and needing more Battlefield games, so what do I stumble across today? Big box Battlefield Vietnam Redux! It looks so cool! I didn't even know Battlefield games came in a big box as I bought BF1942 in the small box size and certainly don't remember any of the other games having big boxes.  Also grabbed FEAR which is an old favorite (Aged incredibly poorly though) and I'm into WW2 games, so I figured I'd grab the copy of Company of Heroes as I own it on Steam.  Also found a random Sega CD game for a buck.  Don't collect these, but I've always loved the Sega CD cases.

oh nice! good to see the differences between the two versions. Now I'm tempted to waste the money to get the other variant...

In other news, got my CE of World of Final Fantasy yesterday. A nice, hefty box! Unfortunately, one of the corners has some light crushing, but I'm hoping that it doesn't affect the contents. I'll have to open it up soon to check.

Very World of Warcraft day today.  Nearly bought the entire line of games, but the Salvation Army I found the older Standard/Burning Crusade Battle Chest with a guide in it overprices their stuff.  10 bucks for an unusable game and kinda shitty box wasn't worth.  They also had Wrath of the Lich King for 10 bucks which is dumb.  The other Salvation Army had the first two for 3 bucks a pop and I got Mists of Pandaria for 2 bucks at another thrift shop, so a very nice deal.

Been a PC gamer for years, but never really kinda took the plunge into active PC collecting, but lately I felt like sorta diving into it, especially since PC games are almost always pretty cheap, especially compared to most other stuff since a lot of PC games are mostly useless within the past like...10 years, or when you get older, are unplayable because of age.  Found a nice little stack over the past week to get me started along with the few I already had.

That's what I love about it. There are very few complete PC games that are worth over $20 and there is such a small amount of collectors for them they can be found all over the place. I've seen people giving them away, it's awesome!

I'd say they are mostly useless because most of them are bound to Steam, Origin, whatever...
Takes away so much joy and fun of collecting recent pc games. I gave up, when Steam went big a few years ago. Never looked back, never had regrets.

The way I look at it, if there is a PC game that I want to collect that is within 10-years old, the physical version can be more or less useless if I do have it on Steam or Origin. The fact that I have a physical copy of it with the box, manual and other goodies, and the game itself installed via online distribution is enough for me.

Don't they have a system now that if you have the disc-version, Steam or GoG will recognize it, and give you the digital version for free? I thought I saw something like that on GoG, at least. So I'd assume Steam would do it too.

Looks like very few games are eligible for that atm: https://www.gog.com/reclaim

Steam does not offer this with original cd-keys on games.

Steam does that too, but with only a few selected titles, all Valve titles can be activated of course but not only them, i can't seem to find the exact list of those games on steam anymore but i remember Dark Messiah being part of it since that's how i got the game on Steam. I know that some others games like Mount & Blade for example offered a conversion of their cd-key to a steam key if you activated the game on the developer site (but that was a few years ago, i don't know if it's still available).

I also test all Cd-key from the Ubisoft games directly on Uplay since some of them can be activated on that platform even though there is no information about Uplay anywhere on the game case.
