So I have the opportunity to buy a wholesale lot of ~2000 (according to him 2036) ps2 games with ~800 (834 according to an itemized list he has) individual titles for a little less than a buck a peice but the kicker obviously that the items are 100% untested and 100% disc only. The owner has NOT gone through the titles and taken out the expensive games and claims all have light to heavy scratches with no cracks and sent me a few picks of just the front side of just some of the games, some had stickers, scratches, and some had part of the front label removed. The seller accumulated these items from places like video game stores/video rental stores/ect that went out of buisness in my area and has been holding onto them hoping the video game market would go up in price so he could sell them for more but has become tired of waiting. I know this person, not personally but a good friend of a good friend of mine, so I know he will not screw me over and me and my good friend will be allowed to count them and make sure they are all games and not videos.
I have the money to outright buy it all but also do not feel comfertable spending all that money. I have a very good relationship with my local gaming store and will be selling them ALL WORKING DUPLICATES if I go through with this.
So my question is do you think there will be any upside to this?like will I be able to make my money back? Or should I avoid this deal?
and no Individuals he has it set in his mind that he wants to get rid of them all as they are taking up aLOT of space.
If you feel like I may have left out any necicary details please say something and I will add what i know.
EDIT:
He is asking $2,000 even for it but says if the count isnt exactly 2036 then hed minus the difference. So a quick calculation is 98.23 cents a peice but i suspect he will take a buck for each missing to make it easier.
As for preference I would test each game I intend to keep/sell and buy blank cases for the working ones I would keep. Sell the working doubles loose and probobly keep the ones that dont work because I intend to get a disc buffer If I buy this, just to see if I can get them to work. and at that point throw out/give away what does not work.
