A relative of mine claims to have seen a video showing a chemical factory explosion in the eastern part of the world from what this relative saw and heard  without getting the government involved in this post all I can say is it  was an accident and was not intended to be used on the country that was developing this at this factory or were led to believe

I do think the bats are where the diseased started from but the sickness may or may not have been in mass production, also.

All I can say is whoever did this maybe wanted to become more famous the WWII's Hitler, If your wondering why someone would want this done just look at Adolf Hitler, he ordered and executed over 6 million people for not a single reason at all and Hitler even killed his own Nazi followers for fun as well

And I've read articles saying it's from America & you can trace it to a government bioweapon facility that closed for poor containment practices.

Right now, where it's from isn't important outside of 'will knowing help find a cure'- everybody's affected anyway, let's work on social distancing & a cure, then the financial fallout, THEN we can be petty & point fingers.

And nobody did it in purpose to be 'bigger than Hilter'- you can't be famous if no one knows who you are, & no one's out there saying "That's right! It was ME! I am the harbinger of humanity's downfall!" We'd probably know if you could trace to someone.

Wash your hands, play some games, worry less about things you can't change.

I've never heard of this one- anybody wanna give a detailed breakdown? Wondering if I should look into it...

I don't really have one right now- between the various shutdowns & the new consoles on the horizon, I'm kinda in a holding pattern prepping for a busier year next year. I pick up stuff from my wishlist from time to time, but I don't really actively search at the moment.

Honestly? I'm doing fairly good, all thing considered. My fiancé was concerned about my family's food/temperament situation (my dad & brother don't always get along), so I'm staying with him and his family for my state's two week lockdown. I brought a few consoles along, so my days are largely normal save for not working- I never did get out much to begin with.

As far as actual health- I don't have a fever. That sounds a little silly to focus on, but- I take medication that makes me cough, I'm prone to migraines (so headache/body ache/fatigue/nausea), and being Spring the mild allergies are kicking in. Quite literally, the only symptom of this thing I can't explain away is the fever!

I've read all sorts of theories about where it came from- Bats! Pangolins! Chinese bioweapon! American bioweapon! I'm seriously surprised I haven't found anyone claiming 'biblical plague' yet. My take it- we can worry about blaming someone later. Let's worry about prevention & a vaccine for right now.

We’re all going to die.

Maybe YOU are- I'm sticking around to see what the post-apocalypse is gonna look like. Fallout? Mad Max? Who knows! (Actually, probably just first-half Endgame but without the Avengers around. Lame.)

Been mostly working on improving my speedrun of Uncharted Waters: New Horizons, an obscure SNES RPG.

Nice! I stumbled into a copy of that buying a $30 SNES lot at a thrift store. If this whole thing runs long, perhaps I'll start it up & bug you for tips!

My first serious failure was a Sega CD that quit spinning something like 15 years ago- but it was on its last legs when I bought it. I occasionally had to, quite literally, prop start the thing (open the tray, manually spin the disc, close the tray quickly & hope it caught). Its replacement has served me well the last many years, but my understanding from the noises it makes these days is it could a use a refurb.

My PS2 (phat model) had the laser go out, but did so back when Sony had to fix them for free. It's been very reliable since.

My OG Xbox began showing signs of corrosion last summer, but I found a local shop to get it repaired. They were impressed at how well cared for the unit was cared for, which both made me happy, and made me wonder what find of machines they normally work on!

My Channel F is my biggest concern right now- it's 2 button has quit working, but it's so old I'm not sure where to find parts/someone to work on it.

I've had several controllers go funny on me, but most of those I could open & fix myself- the only exception is the Wavebird. Debating on if it makes more sense to get a replacement or try & have it repaired.

Mostly Yakuza Kiwami so far. Took a day on Monster Hunter World to fight the Raging Brachydios & Furious Rajang. And, since everyone else I know is playing it, I ordered a copy of Animal Crossing New Horizons & it should be here Friday (we'll see).

So I maye have submitted something, it didn't got trough (maybe a mistake in the name, the boxart, whatever...) and I wouldn't know. I would think that item is forever on my list and I can "forget" about it, but it isn't..?

Anyone else has any info on this?

Again, it's just to be sure I know my collection is complete, I love the website and the work you guys do :)

I think you're misunderstanding piffle- let me try and clarify:

If you post a new listing that has something in it that prevents it from being accepted, you'll get an error message. Otherwise, it will be added- no matter how bad the listing is. All that gets checked when a new item is submitted is if the minimum info is present (which would be item name & category), and if any additional info is formatted right (like not uploading a .txt file for a photo). The quality of the submitted information is not checked- you wanna add Zelda on the Sega Genesis with a picture of Crash Bandicoot? You can, as long as you fill out the form right.

What you will not be informed of, is if your listing is deleted or merged. Obviously, Genesis Zelda/Bandicoot would be deleted. You would not be told, it'd just be gone. I believe listings identifies as duplicate are indeed merged- but you wouldn't be told about that either. Also, since we're all human, a 'duplicate' listing might not actually be a duplicate, just a poorly described variant- and you could find yourself merged into the wrong listing.

I reccomend going over your collection once every couple months & making sure things are good. Doesn't have to be too detailed, just count up games for a specific system & make sure the numbers match. Maybe check the drop-down menu for odd regions -the one time I think I had a bad merge, it was over a regional difference. Could've been a mistake on my part though.

I've been internally smirking, just a lil' bit, at all the people going 'oh what will we do with all the things closed?!' When my main job shut down for two weeks, I spent the last thinking of all the stuff I was gonna do- I'm gonna finish Yakuza Kiwami! I'm gonna clean/rearrange the closet! I'm gonna work on my Zelda map cross stitch! I could read the second Yukikaze novel, or Adam Savage's book! I'm gonna walk around playing Pokémon Go! I mean- I know minimalism is in and all, but do people really not keep things to do around their homes?

My plans have actually been messed up a bit becuase my second job isn't closing, so I've got some work shifts breaking things up. Although I shouldn't be too surprised-my second job is a craft store, we've had a lot of people coming in to buy things to occupy themselves/their kids. I picked up a little more thread for my map, and a punch needle kit- apparently all you need is a base fabric & some embroidery floss, and I've definitely got some of that around. If this gets extended into April, maybe I'll make a new, smaller carry pouch for my Lynx & embroider an Atari logo on it. Or look up YouTube videos on turntables and see if I can fix mine.

Aside from Yakuza & fighting new monsters in Iceborne, games are actually kinda low on the list- like, "I suppose I could start FF15. Or the Witcher 3, that'll use up time..."

General / Re: MJR Collection tracking in 2020 video

I've tried every single collecting app out there, and nothing compares to the freedom and ease of use that VGCollect offers. If only we could bring back the ultra fast text only app from the olden days, I'd be in heaven  :D

Basically this- I actually downloaded the Gameye app out of curiosity, & searched for the 3 things that have given me the most grief on various collection sites: the Channel F collection, my Pinky Street games, and Puzzle Bobble on the Game Gear. Only the Channel F stuff came up, so better than some but still not complete. I do not particularly feel like re-listing my entire collection, & signing up for that other collection site to update their database, for the slight convenience of not accessing the internet & loading this site if I'm out at a game store- especially if I'll need to do it all over again if I get a new phone.

I gave up on the video halfway through & read a synopsis. My takeaway: "so, it's not backwards compatible." Yes, I know it technically is, but as far as I'm concerned, it's 100% or nothing. PS1->PS2, Wii->Wii U, that's stuff I can use. But this partial support, 'more added later' nonsense like Xbox does? Not my style- you expect me to ditch my old system, you best believe I'm gonna be DAMN sure my whole collection still works on the new one. Not most of them, not the most popular ones- ALL OF IT.

For the most part though, I'm not interested in the info they're dropping right now. I know how I am with systems, I'm probably getting both eventually. I just need two things: 1) What games are coming out, to know in which order to buy the systems. 2) Measurements, so I can figure out how I'll fit them into my setup. I can wait until they're ready to tell me that stuff- I'm not in a hurry.

I just don't hear that many people mentioning the PS3 console in general.

I don't hear a lot on the 360 these days either. The Wii got a brief spike when the Eshop shut down, but it's largely quiet too.

This generation has fallen into the 'dark era', as I think of it- too old to be 'last gen' (it's techincally the case, but with PS5/Series X looming, soon that won't be true anymore), but too new to be 'retro'. This also means it's prime time to be collecting for these... the next few years will see these games drop to absolute rock-bottom before they move into the 'retro' window and start coming back up as demand increases. Keep an eye on things!

It outsold the 360 so no.

Barely, and it took 6 years before PS3 lifetime sales overtook the 360's. And in the end, the 360 still sold about 20 million more consoles than the PS3 did in North America; What gave the PS3 the main lead was the fact that the xbox brand is a complete failure in the Japanese market.

This is important- the end numbers aren't as important as when the sales occurred for cultural impact. The 360 had a strong start & dominated most of the generation, so it gets the recognition in the mind of the people (Wii notwithstanding). You see something similar in the 16 bit era. Looking at the sales, you just assume Genesis was a footnote in Nintendo's march of success... but the system's timing in North America gave Sega a HUGE lead for the beginning of the 90s, so people remember a much closer race. Perspective is a funny thing.

Since you said for ANY purpose, the obvious choice is my phone.

Checking texts/twitter? Phone. Watching youtube away from home? Phone. Making calls? Phone. Checking bus schedules? Phone. Pokémon go? Phone. At home but don't want to bother with the TV or the laptop? Phone. The only time that's phone free is work- I don't carry it on the clock. Usually- once in awhile I'm waiting on something important, so I keep it in my pocket.

If we're talking for gaming specifically... I dunno, either phone or PS4 right now. Depends on if my causal Pokémon Go-ing on the bus is outpacing/more important than my dedicated time with (at the moment) Yakuza Kiwami or MHW.

Off Topic / SPRING! (Video)

No great discussion to be had- on the first day of Spring, I post this video everywhere I can think of. Have for a few years now. Enjoy!

Considering our database is fully user-submitted, there's no guarantee it's a complete list for any system to begin with. I've actually never run into a collection management site that did have a full database (big part of why I settled here is the user submits, lets me fill in gaps myself).

You'd probably be better served looking for a specific release list somewhere- I know other sites track that stuff for information purposes. You can cross-reference it against our database to both fill in gaps and make a wishlist of your missing titles. I'd probably try to find multiple lists, in case of inaccuracies.
