Would this be the place to vent? if not please feel free to move this. I'm just kinda pissed at myself and needed to get it out somewhere since my wife doesnt really care abut my collection.

I've been looking for some new shelving for my growing collection and after seeing some pictures on here and other collecting sites I decided to go with two Sauder Multimedia Storage Towers. I found them on amazon earlier this week for 29.99 with free shipping via prime. I decided to put it off till i got paid this friday and when i went to go make the purchase they were listed at 49.99. I contacted customer service to see if they could do anything and they told me the researched the price history and it was never listed for $30. it had always been $50. I know for a fact they were 30. i specifically budgeted for two of them at the price.

Now when you look them up, they are only being sold by a 3rd party for 36 + 28 for shipping.....

Im just kind of pissed at myself for not buying them right away.... now i dont know what im going to do for new shelving. sorry for ranting and thank you for letting me waste your time.

So i just received a few of the games I ordered and unfortunately all of the cases have been damaged in transit... So i guess that makes my decision a little easier. I'm going to go disc only and make my own DVD cases and covers. I'm a little disappointed but I guess I'll save some money in the long run.

Another question while we're talking about the Saturn, people keep saying to go for imports... the only question I have about that is do the Japanese imports have english subtitles at all? I'm not a big fan of playing a game and not knowing whats going on.

How much are you looking for all of it just out of curiosity?

I went ahead and put some offers on some games on ebay and have walked away with more then I was hoping to win lol; but most a little under the going price on ebay. All are complete in box, so I guess I'll go ahead and just keep trying for CIB.

So far I'll be getting:
Panzer Dragoon
Battle Arena Toshinden Remix
Sonic 3D Blast
NBA Jam Extreme
Die Hard Trilogy
Street Fighter: The Movie
Clockwork Knights

There are so more I'd like to get. Its really too bad I've never come across a Saturn game in the wild here.... Delaware kinda sucks.

Here's another conundrum. CIB vs Disc only. As far as my collecting habits go, I've always been cart only for cartridge based games and CIB for disc based games... However I've been seriously thinking about maybe just making custom cases for Saturn games as all the games I want tend to be kind of expensive. I just wanted to see what other people people think about disc only collecting.

Fist of all, Thank you so much for taking time out of your christmas day to write up such an amazing detailed reply. It really seems like you know your stuff. I now want every one of these lol.

I just ordered Panzer Dragoon CIB near mint, i got it for $35 shipped. I'm guessing I need to pick up a memory card as well. I was planing on buying a few games but after seeing the prices on most of them I'm gonna stick to one for now.

Thanks again!!!

Merry christmas everyone! So I got a Sega Saturn today and now I need to pick up a few games to get my collection started. I'm looking for some advice from you guys.

What are some cheap essential CIB Sega Saturn games I should pick up to get started? I would love to find some RPGs but I know those can get a little pricy.

I'm not sure if anyone else here is familiar with this, but there's a new Cryptocurrency in town and its based off the popular Doge internet meme. Similar to Bitcoin, you can mine the coins with a GPU and then spend them online for goods and services. I honestly have no idea if this is going to take off but honestly I don't care. There is just something about this damn thing that's fun and addictive. I've been mining for a few days and have racked up around 11k coins and I just want more. They really aren't worth much, but that doesn't seem to stop anyone. People on reddit have been trading these Dogecoins for beer, pizza, coffee, and even videogames!!!

As I'm reading what I just wrote, it kinda sounds like I'm trying to endorse or promote these, I swear I'm not trying to do that. I just wanted to share with you guys something that I've found fun to do over the last few days.

But anyway. I just wanted to see what you all though about cryptocurrencies and see if you guys participate in any of them. Also if you have any interest in getting started with Dogecoin I'd be happy to share what I know and send you some links and stuff.

Here's another question about skylanders. Whats the deal with all the legionaries and other variants. Do they effect gameplay, or is it just a cosmetic thing?

Can you delete the data on a figure if you buy it used?

701
Do you know of any good places to get some cheap figures? I'm not a big fan of paying full price for anything.  :)

702
So with all the awesome holiday deals going on I managed to snag a copy of Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure Starter Pack for $19 and Skylanders Giants Portal Owners Pack for $18; both for PS3. Before this I really had no interest in the franchise and haven't been following it that much. I understand the game is played by placing the figures on the portal and that the characters stats are stored directly on the figure's NFC chip but not much more. I have so many questions and I'm not sure where to start; like is the game worth playing? are the figures compatible with the different versions? Do I need to buy more figures to really get the best experience. Its all kinda overwhelming so I just wanted to see what our community thinks about this interesting game. Thanks guys (and ladies)!!!

Guerrilla War on NES. I was home sick from school and asked my dad to go rent me a video game to kill some time. He came home with that gem and I was kinda upset at first, but it grew on me and after many hours and many more deaths it was the fist game I ever finished.  I would love to get a hold of a copy but I haven't come across it in the wild yet.

Love it!  I've always been a huge fan of the Super Mario games but when they made the jump to a 3D world I couldn't have been happier. I didn't own a Nintendo 64 during that generation but I would find every excuse I could to go over to my friends house so I could play it. I would have to say its my second favorite Mario game right under Sunshine.
