I understand Xbox's reasoning for doing it since a lot of people can't get a new Series X or Series S console. And this ensures more sales for them.

But as an Xbox Series X owner it's a bit frustrating because they are holding back the potential of this powerful hardware by doing so. Of the games are made to run on inferior hardware, then they aren't being made to fully take advantage of the new hardware. So I personally hope they move away from this policy so I can really see what my Series X can do. I paid a lot of money for exactly this reason.
Series S will likely continue to hold games back once Xbox One and PS4 are no longer supported.
Nonsense , they've been managing to make PC games for numerous performance levels for decades . Consoles , the main difference is that the optimization settings are not as user selectable as they are on PC . The logical thing to do would be to develop for the top performance possible and then scale back for lesser performing systems . Games on the Series S will basically have all the bells and whistles turned down or off and will run at lower resolution and framerate as necessary . Even current MS exclusives like Halo Infinite have higher graphical settings on PC than even the Series X can do .

It should be interesting . There are a lot of eyes on them right now so I expect at least a few good things . I don't want to get my hopes up for anything in particular so I won't be disappointed .

I decided to finally do the clock capacitor and the thermal paste on my first Xbox which is a Version 1.0 . I also found a seller on ebay that makes custom 3d printed fan mounts for the case fan and the GPU fan (Version 1.0 motherboards only) that allow you to use Noctua fans on both so I ordered a set of those for it as well . When I opened it I could only see what appeared to be a little leakage around the clock cap , but no visible corrosion . I desoldered it and the legs of the cap had a small amount of crust on them . Cleaned the motherboard up and put some Thermal Grizzly on the CPU and GPU . Now I'm just waiting on the fan mounts . I got that capacitor just in time , zero damage .
I'm psyched to have that one taken care of , I've been dreading looking inside and have been putting it off . I bought this one brand new and have good memories on it . I have two more OG Xbox's to go . Those should go faster as I won't be doing the fans in those probably and I already have all the tools and supplies out and ready to go .

In the dial-up days of the internet when I was getting 5kbps of blazing speed ,I would play solitaire while I waited for a web page to load . Those built in games were a necessity .

If you have an Xbox account you can get achievements playing it on your windows PC , I think Minesweeper too .

I always wished they would get their act together . Their retro gaming items were always a crapshoot , but sometimes the prices were pretty good on some of the stuff . I'd be sad , I always liked mall game stores as they are a great place to hang out when you have to go "shopping" bleh :P

For GG , GB , GBC , GBA I use the plastic snap protector cases and just keep them loose in a storage tote . DS and 3DS I only buy CIB .

If I remember correctly these games come with a multi-language insert. I have a Pokemon game that has that UAE badge on it. Nintendo has released several first party games on 3DS and Wii U with that little UAE badge. Some are even in this database.

Ah okay . I did search a little in the 3ds section , but I didn't know what country it would be under . Thanks for the reply and info !

All that I can find online is that the consensus is that 3DS games can't be counterfeited . Today I received a Bravely Default World Edition . It's no doubt real , all quality artwork/insert and the case and cart feel correct .

Modern Video Games / 3DS World Edition games

I was noticing when searching for 3DS games recently the huge amount of "world edition" 3DS games being sold on Amazon and Ebay, pretty much every marketplace . Does anyone know if these are legit ? Pictures of them usually show the USA cover art with the addition of a round logo on the front that says : U.A.E. , Saudi Arabia , Malaysia , Singapore , Official Product . They're not really cheap like I'd expect counterfeits to be , but they are titles that are suspect (Zelda,Pokemon,Mario,Fire Emblem, etc). Thoughts and experience on these ?

To me , hard rock/metal stumbled around the 90's and has only gotten better . Glam mainly crashed and burned . Metallica dropped a few turds . I was more into thrash and punk so I ended up getting into bands like L7 , Zombie , Manson , anything industrial or experimental . Right now though there's a lot of great metal coming out in more sub-genres than I can keep track of . Nu metal is mostly great as long as it doesn't have auto-tune , European bands are killing it , Metallica finally released a decent album again , I can't complain about metal today . I ended up throwing out most of my cassettes from the 80's so I don't listen to the classics much , just what I've replaced with CDs . Bands I play a lot now - Def Leppard , classic Metallica , Exodus , Megadeth , Lich King , Motionless in White , Avatar , White Zombie/Rob Zombie , Slipknot , Rammstein , Cradle of Filth , Static-X , New Years Day , We Butter the Bread With Butter , Halestorm , 3TEETH , Bullet For My Valentine , Cavalera Conspiracy .

Used to wear Levi's jeans , but the quality went downhill . Switched to Wrangler cargos , superior quality .
