In general, I don't really buy dupes of the same game, unless it was a remaster or out of convenience. Such as a Switch release that I can take with me.

The only games I really went out of my way to buy extra copies of are the Nintendo, SNES and Game Boy Castlevania games. So I didn't have to handle my complete copies.

Oh ya same. I am very excited for Hyperstone Heist. I used to borrow my cousin's copy all the time, and never got my own copy

So far this month I've gotten Xenoblade Chronicles 3, and I finally tracked down a new copy of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Torna the Golden Country for a reasonable price.

Life gets in the way a lot of times. Plus, like others have said, other social media options out there now that easily take away attention, in lieu of forums time.

Now a days, with work and other things going on with life, I can easily lose days without even realizing it. Hell, I was all set to be more active here after the anniversary celebrations. But then, things happened, and well here we are.

The PS2 collecting bug bit me again. While looking for the Sly Cooper games I picked up a few new things.

Portal Runner, Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, Rune: Viking Warlord and Zone of the Enders 2: The Second Runner.

Also, got my hands on a physical copy of Deathsmiles 1&2 and the big box Castlevania Anniversary Collection from Limited Run.

Sims 2 on PC was my jam for the longest time. I had a ton of expansion packs for it and sunk so many hours into it, even made some custom shirts for my characters.

Sims 2 University is, for me, peak Sims. Even today, of I go back and play the game it is usually in the dorms and taking my teen sims through the world of college. Good times

Hardware and Tech / Re: Replacement UMD drive for PSP-2000?
« on: July 13, 2021, 06:05:50 pm »
I might look into that. I'm not without mechanical skills, but from what I read it's a pretty involved process to change the UMD drive out.

I guess it comes down to cost of a large enough memory card vs the drive. My current memory card is very tiny, as I only ever intended to use it for saves.

Hardware and Tech / Replacement UMD drive for PSP-2000?
« on: July 10, 2021, 12:55:29 pm »
Hey all, my PSP's UMD drive is making some God awful racket when ever it spins up to load. Has anyone had any experience with replacement drives or should I just look into finding another system?

Thanks in advance!

I just buy what looks interesting, and hope to one day play it. I used to have goals, such as a complete US Saturn collection but then I realized I don't care and it felt like I was buying filler for clout.

Eventually I even ended up selling off my Saturn collection, except for the original games I had as a kid.

Now a days the only "goal" I have, I guess would be keeping up on the Castlevania collection. Other than that, there's no end objective for my game collection.

Heck yeah, I remember walking everywhere with my 3DS in a pocket just for Streetpass

Right? Cata killed so much of the game for me. I went back for a couple later expansions, but the magic wasn't there anymore. Cata had one of my favorite moments tho, when I theory crafted  a way to out dps the popular fury spec as an arms warrior.

Wrath of the Lich King: The Wrathgate Cinematic

Oh yeaaaah Wrathgate was amazing, I wish you could still do the Battle of Undercity directly after it too. But, if Classic Burning Crusade is a hit, we should be getting a WotLK Classic eventually too. Gonna need to relive that if it does.

The only thing that I'll say is this. it's nice to play ds games on a bigger screen on a 3ds XL. but ye using a newer piece of hardware to play older games is not a great look I'd say.

I guess I never really looked at the 3DS as a  wholly new system, other than for catalog purposes, just a different hardware iteration. I always compared it to the difference between the Game Boy and the Color.

Sure it had its own games that were only usable, like on the Color, but it was still basically just a game boy (ds) with a color (3d) screen to me.

10 years. Wow.

I was playing on mine not to long ago. I have to say, the DS/3DS has to be my favorite dedicated handheld.

Like others said, I kept 3D off, I tried to like it but it always messed with me. Plus I tend to hold my DS weird, so I was never in the proper viewing angle.

So many I can pick from, FF7 intro, and the death of Aerith both stand out. As does the opening cinematic of Diablo II and the intro and bait/switch in Persona 5.

But I think if I had to pick one, it would be the scene in Persona 3 when the PC shoots himself in the head for the first time to release his Persona. I remember that whole scene blowing my mind so hard I had to reload the game and play it again.

I also think I DM'd Desociatas and was like "wtf just happened?" Since I played the game on her recommendation.
