Seperating Swag & Magazines from Game Items
« on: November 16, 2013, 01:12:13 pm »
I know what people are gonna say, "Just don't add swag and magazines to your collection then."

But I think it would be cool if we could somehow get a collection total minus the swag and magazines. Because personally, I have a lot of gaming comics, magazines, and a few posters which is taking a little of my number count.

If not, it's not a huge deal. Just thought I'd suggest it.

Ya I'd like to see something like this in our profiles:

905 Games, 32 Hardware, 34 Accessories and 126 Swag
Now Playing: Persona 5 Scramble, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Mario Kart 8

That would be so perfect! I'd love such a separation.

I'd like it, too. But we need to add "Magazines" to that separation, as well. For some reason magazines are in the "Other" category, when all other Print Media is in the "Swag" category.

Then, we'll move the mags to print media and delete the mag category.  :)

I believe the magazines category existed long before we split up swag.

Just my *opinion* -but- I think that every possible thing that can be called/considered as "game-related" getting it's own category/separation...is just going a little off of the deep end & kinda' getting a bit too sub-divided...

I don't agree. Separate categories are good. It makes it easier to find things and catalog them into your collection. I happen to have a lot of gaming-related comics, magazines, and posters. And if I have to search through the same category to find them all, it would take forever.

But at the same time, I'd still like to see the totals separated, like has been suggested above.

No; I get what you're saying - I just think that a line's got to be drawn somewhere before we start listing different springs, buttons, and each & every piece that makes up a gaming controler...hence, being considered "gaming-related"  :o
