Series X has been given a price of $499 and a release date of Nov. 10.  If they are making this year, there's no way Sony would miss it.

I was not expecting a leaker to force Microsoft's hands on giving up the goods. About time and bravo to that guy. Now Sony needs to end their silence. I guess as we now have information, at least on Xbox, we wait to see what Sony's move is. I concur that Sony can't afford to delay the PS5 now. Time for them to get up off their rear.

500$ is really suprising

considering how the xbox one x pro version is 400$ atm.

Are the consoles not that powerfull or is xbox making quite the loss per unit sold to try and scare sony away.

Pretty sure both Sony and MS will be selling at a loss (assuming that PS5 with the optical drive is $500). I expect the following for Playstation models...

PS4 Slim - $150 (cease production in 2023)
PS4 Pro - $250 (cease production in 2025)
PS5 Digital - $400
PS5 Optical - $500

I expect all current X1 variations to immediately cease production. Whatever stock is on the shelves or in warehouses will be sold through and then there will only be the XSeS or the XSeX on the market.
