I got this game at launch, it's very fun. Very similar to Guilty Gear/BlazBlue in basic gameplay, but with simplified controls (2 "character" attack buttons, 2 persona attack buttons, one combo for each character that can literally be done by mashing ONE button). Despite that, there's a surprising amount of depth and lots of different stuff you can do (that single-button combo, for example, deals less damage than doing the SAME combo with the proper inputs for it).

... Okay, this post was slightly longer than I wanted to. Just saying, it's fun

I enjoyed it. And intend to get back into it, but I want to actually play through PS4 before I get back into the story modes on the game.

Being a big fighting game fan, I've wanted to give this game a try, but am not sure if I should really seek it out simply because I don't really know anything about the series. Would you guys who've played it recommend it to just a fighting game fan?

I believe this has a ridiculously extensive story mode if you're interested in the characters and all that. Obviously it's not the same as playing the RPG but it's meant to be exceptional for a fighting game.
