If it still reads CDs, it should still play PS1 games, then. You can use it for that, at least. And a few PS2 games are CD-ROM, even. I'm sure there's an online list of them, somewhere. I know a shoot-em up or two I have on PS2 is CD-ROM.
I don't think I have any PS2 CD games I'd like to play right now. :P I have a few PS1 systems, I'd rather use those to play my PS1 games. Maybe I'll actually play Grandia without it crashing all the time.

Yeah, I have a Film Aficionado list, too. When I saw that rateyourmusic had both, I was hoping to just have 1 website for both. Especially since Film Aficionado's website gets REALLY annoying to navigate with the way everything pops-up at you.
I'm pretty sure you can turn off those popups, but I don't remember how.

I'm in no hurry, with so much Christmas shopping still to do. But in the meantime, I'd like to hear opinions from people on these. These are the ones I've been looking at the most.

Which RPG should I get next?

-Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning (XBox 360)
-Lunar: The Silver Star (PS1)
-Tales of Symphonia (GameCube)
-Xenogears (PS1)

I absolutely loved Amalur. The only part that sucked is that it eventually ended. I could have played that game for months and months. Also if you like that style of play, check out Diablo III. Im still playing it. :D

Out of those - I'd definitely recommend Lunar.

That said, I *AM* partial to turn-based/old-school type of games...

I need to get myself Xenogears.  If anything, ToS is getting re-released with the sequel in a few months: http://kotaku.com/four-reasons-to-be-excited-for-the-tales-of-symphonia-h-1460704058

Sounds cool...for those that have a PS3. I don't, unfortunately.

Kind of strange they're releasing it for a PlayStation console when originally it was a GameCube exclusive. It's almost a slap in the face to those Nintendo fans.

I don't think it's safe to have a picture of yourself as your avatar  ;D

I still say that this thread will just become too overloaded with stuff to really be worthwhile
