Surprised no Tekken made it. I'm not really a fan of fighting games but I did play Tekken 3 a fair amount and likely would have suggested that one next. Monster Rancher didn't make the cut either.

Aw damn, I forgot about Monster Rancher completely... whoops.

Somewhat rectified that in the GBA topic :P

Wow that didn't take long to hit 100!

I wish I had checked sooner and added Jet Moto 2 :)

Well, the playstation library is almost 1600 games. I knew it wouldnt take long to hit 100 on this one. I probably could have added another dozen or more games myself. It really is, hands down, one of the greatest consoles period.

I can't believe I forgot about Star Ocean... I have to check if I still own that title or if I need to repurchase it (possibly stolen long ago).  :-[
Currently playing:
FFXIV (PC), The Witcher (PC), Monster Hunter World: Iceborne (PS4)

Little bit of an observation/trivia =

(I thought) it a little surprising that some of the PS1's rarest & most valuable & sought after games didn't make our top 100 list; like...

Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen & Tomba.

I've yet to play (but I *do* own 'em)...anyone here play/have any thoughts/opinions on these games?

I bowed out too soon, otherwise Ogre Battle would've definitely been on the list. I don't own the PS1 version, but played the living crap out of that game on the SNES. Still one of my all-time favorites!

How is it (in your opinion) compared to Tactics Ogre?

Sad to say that while I own Tactics Ogre on PSP, I haven't gotten around to playing it yet. What I can say is that it's still my benchmark for large scale map SRPGs, the Tarot aspect is fantastic, the difficulty is about on par with most Front Mission games, and it kicks the living crap out of stuff like Stella Deus.

The most visible difference, even without having played Tactics Ogre, is terrain. It's much less rigidly defined in Ogre Battle, and a bit more like Advance Wars, where it's basically flat terrain and what you're standing on (a forest, mountain, etc) has an impact, but doesn't really restrict movement like it does with grid-based SRPGs.

Tactics Ogre on the PSP is great! I never finished it but it was good. I had more fun with the GBA offering but I think it was just my frame of mind at the time I played the two games that made the difference.

I enjoyed Tactics Ogre MUCH better than March of the Black Queen.  They are both strategy but play very different.  Most games I could care less about graphics but I found it actually made MotBQ very hard to play.

Yeah, that seems to be the general consensus on both games. I'll get to TO eventually, but my backlog is ridiculous these days :/
