VGCollect Version 2 BETA is here!
« on: July 01, 2013, 09:00:08 pm »
Well at long last, here is VGCollect version 2 BETA!

So as most of you know, a month back I set myself a hard deadline and have been working hard trying to meet that goal. The deadline had to be set or else this day would have never come. That being said, there are a lot of things that I wasn't able to squeeze in to this release. Before I go into new features, let me just start listing things that don't work as of right now.

Feed
Badges and User profiles
Advanced Search
Removing items from collection wish list, sell list
New game submissions
New game edits
Pagniation
Responsive design
and on and on and on.

Some of these are huge and I know some of you are probably asking why I just didn't push this back a bit more. The truth is that I had to push it out. It's been sitting here and you guys have been patiently waiting for it.

So here is the plan. I'm going to be pushing out updates all night (and throughout the rest of this week) to get us back up and running at 100%.

Until now, feel free to fill this thread with any issue you have found. I will do my best to address everything in a timely manner.

The good news is that we finally have a stable foundation to build on. The backend that powers VGCollect is now up to date and ready to handle our growth.

Thanks again for all your support. The community here exceeds my expectations on a daily basis. Keep up the good work and I'll do the same.

Now I have some coding to do...

Thanks,
Matt

guess that means we're all stripped of our admin titles

it's been fun, guys

(on a serious matter, looks like the site signature is dead too, but it should probably have a new design anyhow. Someone should toss it over to me and I'll take care of it.)

Can I just carry a ban stick?  I don't want responsibility, just a big hammer.

Hm. There's a blank entry on the top of my wish list for some reason.

Thanks for working on this. Many sites like this promise updates and fixes, but often procrastinate forever before doing anything. So it really instills confidence knowing that VGCollect backs up what they promise.
