If you have the coin to spend, it'll be easy. If you have lots of free time and even more luck, you could do it on a normal persons budget.

NES and SNES stuff can get real pricey. All the other stuff is pretty reasonable outside of the really rare stuff. As for Japanese stuff, I have no idea.

According to Nintendo Age, the numbers are as follows : 768, 726, 15, 296, 561, 930, 55 (this one is going to grow a lot), 511, 445, 1046, 1654, 116 (this one is also going to grow a lot). Thats 7123 US Nintendo games. Japan's library is probably bigger on every system. That will put you over 15000 games and as such, you would be over 4000 games higher than the person who just got into the Guiness book. That person has been collecting for decades. Also in the time it would take you to acquire these 15000 games, 100s more would be getting released.

Basically what Im saying is if you havent gotten yourself balls deep in by now, chances of you doing so any time soon is slim to none. Not trying to rain on your parade, just letting you have it real.

So you mean you want to collect all games actually made by Nintendo? I'd assume that means minus arcades. That doesn't seem like that hard of a feat to accomplish.

Are you including all multiplatform versions of titles, too? Some of those 2nd generation releases came out for a LOT of systems (Mario Bros. Original, Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., Popeye, etc.) like Atari 2600, 7800, Intellivision, Colecovision, Commodore 64, etc.

When I answered the first time, I took it as you wanted to collect all the North American released games for the Nintendo systems (both licensed and unlicensed) and thats how I answered. If you are only going for 1st party main staple titles of Nintendo systems then that list is going to be much much smaller.

Another thing...  As a collector myself, are you aiming for complete copies (case/box, manual, game, inserts if applicable) or just the games themselves?

I would advise you to focus on your future first since whatever path you're taking in completing this goal, requires A LOT OF MONEY AND TIME TO SPEND.  Plus, the additional time to enjoy/play the games.

Using that data, if you bought a game a day, you could complete the US set of every game covered by Soera's numbers in 20 years. At that point you can start buying a game a day to cover the time from today until 20 years from now (covering the time you were collecting the stuff released before today).

You also have the Japanese market.

It's not impossible. It is a finite number of games. But the combinatorics of it are not in your favor.
