You know, as far as UMD movies are concerned, I'm sure there is some guy out there that wants  every UMD video ever released for the PSP. And if said guy Googles "UMD Movie PSP Collection" or something and comes here, all the better.

For what it's worth, I consider UMD movies (as much as I find them useless) to be part of the PSP's library. They aren't games, sure. But Sony did utilize it's proprietary UMD format to release another form of media for their handheld. Now, that doesn't mean we should list every DVD ever released because the PS2 and up can play them. But the PSP, CDi and a few select others would be an exemption.

Should/could we also list all BD movies from that time then?

What if there's a device that does nothing but PLAY UMD movies...do they then no longer qualify?

But Blu-Rays don't come in PlayStation 3 branded cases and there were Blu-Ray specific players available. The UMDs are branded for the PSP and no other official means of playing them exists, as far as I'm aware of.

Check your PSN messages (I took a screen shot from my PS3) & forwarded it to ya'...

...OR...just Google "UMD players" - it's far from anything close to being exclusive to the PSP

So...just like movies on any/every other mediums; no?

All I see are pictures of PSPs, replacement cases, disc keepers, knockoff PSP lookalikes that only load digital content, and images of PSVitas from articles where it's stated that Vitas don't support UMDs. It IS possible to "rip" the contents of these discs and play them back. But no standalone, non-PSP UMD players exist anywhere in retail form. Apparently Sony did have one on display at one point (see here) but nothing was ever released.

And yes I did check past the first page.

It IS possible to "rip" the contents of these discs and play them back.

You can copy the contents from a UMD by dumping the disc, but this involves homebrew, which isn't an official solution to playing UMD content on other PSP models. So my point stands.

It wouldn't = my point all along...just cuz a GAMING System plays movies /=/ those movies having anything at  all to do with gaming.

And...with that, I'm walking my pasty white ass right on out of this topic because I've already given waaaaaayyyy more of my time talking about people who do/don't want to count movies as part of their video game collection ==> *Really*, I just don't care...it's not like I worry about anyone else's collection being "right"; other than my own, that is.  so...
