So, how and when did N1 get Atelier back from KT?

If memory serves...

I think KT still does the localization and marketing for the Atelier series. N1 is just in charge of providing a special edition.

I know that sounds weird, but that's my understanding. Maybe someone with access to gaming news sites can verify. @_@

That does seem like an odd arrangement.  Like kash said, if anyone can explain this and/or provide more information on it, I'd be curious to hear about it too.

This is indeed correct. NISA has done this a few times now for games they haven't localized, including Atelier Escha and Logy Plus.

Did they do this for Shallie? That's one CE that I regret not purchasing.

They did. They've done this for quite a few of KT's localizations now actually. I regret not getting Ar nosurge Plus. :(

Is that the one for the Vita?

Yep, that's the Vita version. Unfortunately that limited edition from NISA is the only way to get a physical copy of the game. That's the reason I ended up buying Atelier Escha and Logy Plus even though I haven't played any of the others in the series. :-[

Star Ocean comes West this summer! :D  Will enjoy making that update to the main list tomorrow.

English story trailer (game will have both English & Japanese audio):

"When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed
if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I
became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the
desire to be very grown up.” ― C.S. Lewis

I am really stoked about this. I was thinking that I would have to wait until winter to play it. Now I'm wondering if there will be a collector's edition. No matter, day one purchase and day one play.

List updated!

Y'know, I keep saying I'm going to get into one of the Atelier games one of these days, but they always seem to release at the same time as other RPGs I have a higher interest in - this time, Odin Sphere Leifthrasir and Grand Kingdom. But heck, this entire year is a JRPG fan's paradise or nightmare, depending on your perspective. ;) I'd say my top 5 anticipated right now are:

1) Final Fantasy XV
2) Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness
3) Persona 5
4) I Am Setsuana
5) Tales of Berseria

Tales would be higher if I had actually played Zesteria yet!  :o
