Just finished The Gifted, that aired on Fox.

I only caught the first season the first time around what it actually aired. Fantastic series. Great acting. Great writing. And nearly every episode was emotionally intense. Yeah, it doesn't have the actual X-Men, but don't let that keep you from watching this fantastic series.

My only complaint is the final episode. Everything just hurried up and wrapped up so quickly. I'm assuming they were suddenly told they're not getting another season when they thought they were.

Watched a Youtube video about the Franklin expedition, a mid 1800's trip through the fridge arctic to find the Nothwest Passage that ultimately failed and lead to the death of over 150 men.  Reminded me about the tv show, The Terror, which I watched years ago and figured why not, I'll watch it again.  I think taking what is otherwise a pretty mysterious, unknown, story, and building a tense narrative around what might have happened, with abit of a horror bent to it, works well.  They get to utilize some details that are known, but otherwise it's all free for them to do whatever they want.  I feel like they do a lot to keep it all fairly realistic, with just the risk of a bear attacking them as being possibly supernatural, but I feel like it's kinda all very questionable if that is true or not, that it's just maybe the imagination of the men, all of which were suffering from the stress of being trapped, the cold, and suffering from illnesses, such as lead poisoning that affected their food supply.

It's a good watch still, very tense.  I might watch the second season, which I never checked out before.  I found it weird to turn something that was very distinctly about one event and then to make it an anthology series where each season is meant to be a new horror story.  I heard the second season wasn't as good, but the setting of having it in a Japanese Interment Camp is possibly an interesting one at the least.  I know there's a third season too, set in a psychiatric hospital that is I think modern day or close to it, which is way less interesting, I guess it's all based on books, but to me, having the series be a period horror piece is way better for a setup.  Not sure if I'll get to that one.
