I haven't played it in awhile, but I think once you get past the early story areas and are tasked with collecting all those different colored talismans, the online mode will open up.

I've had it since launch and played the first few missions and then got into other games. I forgot to go back but I know that when I do, I'm gonna be addicted and gonna go OCD on all the collectibles.

I have it, but never got to the online mode. I think I'm pretty close and I was thinking about starting it up again. Maybe we'll be able to get some time in soonish.
