Can you help me choose my next game to play?

I'm pretty close to finishing KOTOR, and I'm really torn on what to play next, but I'll stick by majority.

Keep in mind I have not played any of the games on this list.

XBox - Knights of the Old Republic 2
PS2 - Final Fantasy X
Xbox 360 - Bioshock 2
PS1 - Final Fantasy VIII
Dreamcast - Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver
N64 - Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time
SNES - Legend of Zelda a Link to the Past

Or, check out my collection and write in a vote... because much of it I haven't played.

Really, pretty much all the games here I had a "You never played *GAME*? Play that." reaction to.

But a shout out to Ocarina of Time (one of my favorites ever!) or Bioshock 2.

I'd give a game or two in between KOTOR and KOTOR 2. Although they are both great, KOTOR was developed by Bioware and KOTOR 2 was actually developed by Obsidian. The UI is just different enough that it gets to some people when they play them back to back.

I know, and I've been a gamer since I was a little kid. I genuinely couldn't tell you how I spent my gaming years after FF VII was released. I was a Sony kid, then an MS kid, and didn't pick up a Nintendo anything until well into my 30s.

The great thing is I get to enjoy them still... the bad thing is I don't have 24 straight hours to blow in front of a console like I did when I was a kid.

Do you have the PC version of kotor 2? If so look for the story patch, kotor 2 was rushed and obsidian cut a crap load of stuff from it. Fans in the modding community found the files on disc and reinserted them into the game.

EDIT: I am retarded, and didn't read that it was the Xbox version of Kotor 2.

Also I vote for Link to the Past. While Ocarina of Time is most excellent, I think you would do well playing Link to the Past first. And as far as Final Fantasy goes, I got much more enjoyment out of X than I did VIII. I just couldn't get into that game, and the story seemed laughable (especially major plot points). Personally, if you haven't, I'd suggest playing FFIX. It's one of my top 5 FF games (Plus Vivi is one of my most favorite characters ever).

Definitely one of those Zelda games.  Of the two I prefer OoT, but LttP is great as well!

Do you have a PS3?

If you do, I believe that FF-X (IMO, a 8/10 game) is going to be getting an HD *Re-Master* on the PS3 (and possibly other platforms that I'm unaware of).

From what I've heard, like I said, it's to be a Re-master *NOT* a re-make...so unless you enjoy playing the games in their original graphics, I'd say just wait for the re-master & play the game in HD.

For what it's worth, I recently played Final Fantasy X on my PS3 with it's edge smoothing feature turned on and the game still looks very good. Personally, I don't think most of these HD remasters are worth it.

Knights - Shrug, if you are playing the first one, the second one wouldnt be a bad option
FFX - Throw it in the trash and never look back. Its the begining of the shit that is the current FF trend.
Bioshock 2 - No idea. Never played it
FF VIII - Not the best but still beats X or anything after
Legacy of Kain - Never played but looks okay/
Zelda Ocarina of Time - Looks decent ...
Zelda Link to the Past - Best Zelda game ever without question. If you havent played it, its a must try.

^This. Link to the Past is just so fantastic, it's impossible to skip. Everything else on the list is very skippable, even OoT. Not that OoT isn't good, it's great, but it doesn't have the same polish as LttP I'd say.

So I'm going to add one more thing to the list - Castlevania Symphony of the Night. I'm thinking it might have to be this. Never played it, not even on the 360 with the remake.

Pretty much any version of Symphony is good. The Xbox 360 version did remove a few things, but nothing drastic. Of course, if you want to see the intro and ending videos you'll have to play the psx version
