Duplicate List 2025
« on: January 31, 2025, 11:59:55 am »
Use this thread to post duplicate items in the database so that DB staff can merge or remove the entries.

Post the name of the item that is duplicated, along with the links to each of the items.

Once you have made your post, do not edit it later to add content. Make a new reply if possible or save all of the items you want to post for one post. Editing your post to add new content can cause a problem if a DB admin is actively working in this thread.

After a dupe post has been processed, a DB admin will use the Strikeout text effect on the duplicate links, so that you and we know that the report has been looked at.

These entries represent two different items. See the below images:

Duplicates: Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent for the Xbox Games Store (X360) [NA]

The one added more recently seems to have all the correct formatting, correct cover art, and more info.

I just created the second entry, but it might be a duplicate? (the pictures on the first one show a silver case, and I've seen the silver case version on eBay)

The images in 96446 do not feature any part of the case, as they're cropped photo images of the cover art only. You're right that there are both green and gray case variants, but the overwhelming amount of available sealed copies on eBay are for the former (28 compared to 1.) So, we should assign 96446 as what is more common since nothing about the entry suggests which of the two variants it is. For that reason, I've merged 283231 into 96446. You can re-submit your images to the entry.

Done. Thank goodness I still had the text on the clipboard.

I have what I think may be the UK version of the switch game Blue Fire and was curious what I should use for the title when I add it to the database?

This is the version currently already in the database.  It looks like it's a EU version with a purple triangle in the bottle righthand corner on the back and a different EIN number: https://vgcollect.com/item/202920

Here is an ebay listing with an example of the one I have: https://www.ebay.com/itm/334708424278

Should I title it as Blue Fire [UK] or is there a different way to format it?

Based on 202920's history, it seems that the entry was intended to represent some English-text language release. Then, later image submissions were approved but were for the ES regional release. Here is a link to those images as I've already removed them from the entry. At this time, I've not been able to identify any proper EU release, so UK would be the next acceptable regional variant for the entry to represent. So, instead of submitting a new entry, you can instead update 202920 accordingly for UK. There won't be any need to add a TLD either. I'll also submit a new entry for the ES item so that that information won't be lost.
