Question regarding https://www.vgcollect.com/item/236893

The existing cartridge art can be overwritten to showcase both included cartridges. Bernard in the Castle is acceptable Alt-Name data since that is the Common Name as seen on both GameFAQs and Generation MSX. With that said, Bernard in the Country may also be submitted to the Alt-Name field, and local Spanish names can be too. My only other instruction regarding the Alt-Name field is to practice appropriate letter casing as that's not currently being done.

It actually says "LAUCHERS" on the box.

Also, please reject an edit I just sent. Forgot to fix a lowercase L on "system link" (too little sleep)

I have just added the following entry for a UK release of Colin McRae: DiRT:
https://vgcollect.com/item/297836

It is similar to the following release, but has a different barcode and does not have the callout text/sticker on the front. From the low-resolution image on the earlier entry I cannot make out the additional text on the cover and was unable to find a higher-resolution image online with about 5 minutes of searching, but I may just have not been looking the correct places.
https://vgcollect.com/item/124620

I included the colon ( : ) in the title as that is how it is presented in GameFAQs for the EU releases.

Additionally, item 124620 has the developer entered as 'Codemasters Software Compant Ltd'. This appears to be a typo; 'Compant' should be 'Company'. I selected just 'Codemasters' as the developer and publisher as the last sentence of the copyright block on the back of the box is 'Developed and published by Codemasters.'.

https://vgcollect.com/item/297836

First, 297836 does not seem to represent the UK regional release. I was able to confirm two copies, one available for sale in Finland and Norway each. So 297836 may be a Scandinavian release, or it may be a "general Europe" release likely sold in numerous countries besides Scandinavia. I wasn't able to confirm a specific regional release, so I've omitted TLDs for its Name field since it's likely a copy sold broadly across Europe. Now, I believe I found seven copies of the UK release that is 124620 on eBay UK with minimal effort. So for now, the two entries are fine as they are as I've updated them both; if more information concerning 297836 is learned pertaining to where it released, its Name field can always be updated in the future to reflect those details.

'Codemasters Software Compant Ltd'. This appears to be a typo; 'Compant' should be 'Company'.

I've known about this typo for a few months, but Developer field data can't be edited or created at this time until a site error is resolved. Thanks for reporting it, nonetheless.

Fair enough. I found this in a US charity shop with no receipt, so I have no way of being certain of the region of release. I based my assertion on the exclusive inclusion of UK-region specific paperwork, seemingly indicated by the 'UK' in the item numbers, the exclusive presence of UK-specific phone numbers (without the country code), all website references being to codemasters.co.uk, and the ELSPA notice on the first page of the English-only manual. The paperwork is definitely intended exclusively for the UK market, though I have no way of being certain if this package was distributed internationally regardless.

I suggest the following entry to be deleted:
https://vgcollect.com/item/262173

since the game is part of a 2 cassette value pack already listed:
https://vgcollect.com/item/295202

am I correct in this?

Have you been able to confirm that there is no individual packaging for each of the cassettes? That is to say, are the actual tapes loose, or are they packaged in game-specific boxes or tape cases?

Pack-in Games from Games or individual games from Multi-Packs
Pack-in games from games or individual games from multi-game packs are allowed to have a separate entry if the additional game has its own packaging. Loose games from games or multi-packs are not allowed a loose entry and are considered to be part of the whole entry.

As I implied before, I found no copies of 297836 when browsing eBay UK. So while my conclusion that 297836 is not from the UK, it could still be wrong. That information too can always be changed if new details are confirmed, but it seems likely that it's correct from what evidence has been gathered at this time.

It's not uncommon for game components to be shared across regional releases either, so that's not an ideal means on its own to determine where an item was originally sold. With that said, neither the ELSPA rating nor PEGI rating are specific to UK too. At the same time, 297836's back cover text features a .com domain, whereas 124620's back cover text instead features a .co.uk domain. I've already highlighted those differences in each of the entry's Box Text fields.
