Author Topic: Forza Horizon 5 coming to PS5. Is it safe to say Xbox is going SEGA route soon?  (Read 1076 times)

Hello everyone :)

I will preface this with a question. Do you support an androgynous gaming unity? Where wars dont exist? Where all 3 consoles blend and share games? Or do you love the competiton? Both options come with pros and cons.

This is essentially if Japan joined the allied forces during WW2. This is the breaking of the Berlin wall in gaming form. This is sacrates philosophies.  Especially because Nintendo cant run it and wont run it.

Forza Horizon 5 is officially coming to PS5 soon. And dont mind me if im late. But I switched teams years ago as a life long xbox fan. I might not be up on news. I was a product of my friend group and my gf is the reason I gave PS4/PS5 architecture a chance and have never looked back.

However I do miss the Forza Horizon games. Gran Turismo doesnt make an equivelant and they are a wild blast. And this is big news for me.

XBOX WAVING THE WHITE FLAG ON COMPETITION?

I think xbox gave up. I do believe by next console generation that Xbox will not be making a physical console. I think they will be packaging either a roku style device with game pass built on it. Which they already do.  Or just flat out become a game publisher and not a console maker.

My evidence for this. Is Minecraft.  They purchased Minecraft rights. When they did this. If they had any desire to fight back. They would have made Minecraft a console exclusive. Imagine having Minecraft? The best selling game of all time. Locked from millions of kids unless their mom buys a fairly affordable Xbox series S?  Massive battle move. But it was never made.

I feel this is a big sign and im really excited for it.  What else can we expect?

1. Halo on all platforms
2. Microsoft flight simulator on PS5
3. Rareware games and Sunset overdrive on PS5
4. Ori and the blind forest on Switch

I don't think Xboxs current sales warrant a new wave of units. I have heard Xbox makes some 80 percent of profits off game pass and software. I think they are ready to fly the coop and share their beauty with the world. Rivals become friends. Kinda a dream to me.

What'aya say folks? Do you think were on the verge of a merger? And does said merger excite you?

Console wars are jover. xbox was already fighting a losing battle but it's actually done at this point  :o

It's cool them games get on more consoles but it will cost em allot of loyal xbox fans well at least the ones that where still left to even survive this point.

I'm sure they probably still make decent money by going this route but in terms of honor and legacy of being a seperate console, all these big shot moves of buying out legitimate game developer companies for this, pretty mediocre way to go out saying F u to your hardcore fans. Xbox deserves the quality memes and meltdowns coming at em, the people that stuck with em for that long these people can take a beating  ::)

4. Ori and the blind forest on Switch

Both Ori games have been on the Switch for several years now

not to mention all the Rareware games on the Switch's N64 emulator

Also all of this "Is Microsoft done?" is starting to get really annoying now Especially since the Playstation has basically doing the same thing having all but... Astrobot? either being available or going to be available on PC. I really don't see a reason to really be excited about either system ATM.

It is true that many sony exclusives end up on pc eventually. but pc is a bit different compared to the console crowd. Allot of people rather play on console than on pc that ain't gonna change it is a different experience and vice versa many people rather play on pc instead of consoles. However if you release everything on all consoles, why still buy an xbox? allot of people will just shift to sony and Nintendo. This is a pretty sizable deal and I kinda question if they even gonna get a next gen console at this point.

Switch's N64 emulator? It does not have even 50 percent of Rare's catelog. Viva Piniata and Conker's reloaded among all the other Xbox 360 era Rare games like banjo kazooie nuts and bolts that are all playable on gamepass. Or rare replay which only got a physical xbox release and has dozens of games unavailable to Nintendo. Ones I really want on playstation.

Also PC migration compared to console migration is not  comparable. As swordude stated. PC gamers and console gamers are not paralells really
Console gamers typically are etched into that lane because they prefer that experience over PC.  Sure some people do both but typically console gamers will not be the types to build a purpose built PC for thousands to run god of war ragnarok. It's only put on PC for the PC gamers. It doesnt effect sales of PS5 heads or tails.

Having exclusives over other console contemporaries 100 percent boosts sales. Migrating to PC will never change that. Its like apples to oranges. One is diversifying. The other is admitting defeat.

If they do integrate. I was more asking if anyone would be happy if it does. Or more mourne the era. Xbox going full publisher is bigger imo then when Atari and Sega did that. And if they do merge with playstation entirely. Id imagine that would be great for xbox as a game publisher and sony as a console juggernaut. I feel gaming is ready for the proverbial wall to collapse.  If I were playstation id be trying to lock Xbox into a partnership software wise and ice out Nintendo from getting those Xbox titles. Now that would be cold blooded lol.

For non xbox fans It would probably be plus. some new games to try out that one has never played on a console of choice. however considering the meltdowns that have happened I think allot of the hardcore xbox fans are on life support  ::)
