I love that stuff. I had my first taste of it over the summer and it was awesome, I now have all my friends hooked on it too lol

Hmm...I've never heard of/thought of doing/trying that ---BUT---; since I love me some good iced-coffee, it stands to reason that I'd probably like it  8)

So, I've been told by the girl that I've been dating for the last month or so (nothing *very* serious; mostly casual relationship) that, as part of my birthday present/"birthday-package"...

*NOTE* - (My B-Day is next Thurs. 10-25) & the "Silent Hill" 3-D movie comes-out on the day after my B-Day (10-26)

...she's going to be taking me/treating me to go & see the new Silent Hill move (along w/ breakfast @ I.H.O.P, late-lunch/early-dinner 'buffet' / with a "Mystery/Who-done-it" dinner show in Atlantic City, some gambling in the casinos, staying-over in a nice suite (with some nice, late-night room-service champagne)...and ending the next morning w/ a nice, lazy breakfast in bed (room service, again) kind of thing.

Anywhoo...the main point/question(s) here are:

(1).  Is anyone else thinking about/planning to go see this movie?,

(2).  What kind of expectations/lack of expectations do you have about this movie?
        - Since, as we all very well know, good/great games do not, in any way, *Usually* translate as well into other & different types of media(s).

(3).  Did anyone see the other Silent Hill movie(s)? / How were they?

(4).  How many other Silent Hill movies have there been before this one - What/Which Silent Hill games were they based-on?
        - For that matter, which game/games is this new one based-on?
, and

(5).  Lastly, feel free to talk about/tell the rest of us here about *ANY* other movies that were based-on video games, name & talk-about different ones (I'm sure that there have been tons of "Video-Games-Turned-Into-Movies" that I'm unaware of)...and...of course...which of these movies were good, great, and/or terrible?!

P.S.

- Since I haven't yet had the time/chance to watch my Blu-Ray copy of FF: Advent Children and/or my regular DVD of whatever-the-name-is of that "other" "Final Fantasy"-based movie...I'd also appreciate it if those of you here who *have* seen them could take the time to also talk about them (I'm not at all concerned about *Spoilers*)...what they're about, what you liked/didn't like about them, etc...

As always, Thanks!

I still say that this thread will just become too overloaded with stuff to really be worthwhile but whatever makes you happy I guess.

It just seems like the stuff posted in here so far would be better suited to the Off Topic area.

I agree that it might be better suited for off-topic, just so people know that the thread may or may not contain game-related discussion.

But it also sounds like y'all want some sort of community chat room ;)

Most of the video game movies suck. Final fantasy the spirits within really does suck. Advent Children however is freaking fantastic.

I'm going to move this thread to Off-Topic since it's not really about video games.

... or at least I tried, there doesn't seem to be a move function available to me. o_o

...Really?!

...Why?????...it's a "general" thread (in the "general" section) --and-- (I'm guessing) that the majority of it will end up being related to gaming/collecting in one way or another...

...but...whatevs/

Happy Birthday to my fellow October babies!  I turned 36 on the just over a week ago.

I like the idea of an off-topic thread, though I'd advise it steer away from controversial subjects like politics and religion.  In the Spring, I left a forum I'd been an involved member of for 8 years due to a fight I got into with other members over politics.

General as in video gaming general. The thread's been way off-topic about video games since it began, more or less. :P

Yeah there are a few subjects I refuse to participate in. Religion and politics are definitely 2 of them. I also steer clear of xbox discussions.

Yeah...thinking about it, it doesn't really matter to me if it's in "general" or if it's in "off-topic".

Maybe if/when we move it to "off-topic"; we could re-name it something that I like better than my original title...like..."Collector's Corner"?!

Also, sure, I agree w/ everyone just using their common sense to avoid religious/political arguments, etc.
Actually, more along the lines of what desocietas said, like a "social"/"chat"-type of community thread.
