Ive had every review ive typed deleted for days now because server issues.

Even before the site slowness issues, I've accidentally overwritten post text. To avoid this problem, I've just gotten in the habit of copying the text beforehand just in case it needs to be pasted, and I always draft long posts (particularly ones for the 52 Games Challenge) in a word processor.

This is what I started doing as well. Seems to be the only way.  Because id say its a 9/10 chance I get Server error when I hit post. Today is better but the other 3 days were basically not possible to even access the forums. Usually I refresh and it loads.


Is there a way to remove bots that is being discussed or perhaps fund a larger more strong server upgrade even if we all chip in?  Not speaking for anyone of course. I have no idea the expenses of such a project.   Is it known why the site ran so well in 2016 but not now?  I do hope for the best for not only user but mod sake.

Think I'm gonna trade my PS5 in at Gamestop and put it towards a Switch 2.  I kinda realized I haven't touched it at all this year and while I'm interested in Wolverine and God of War Laufrey coming, those are like one and done games and there's not a ton else.  Compared to Switch 2 where there's a bunch of games I'm interested in picking up and games I'm looking forward too. 

Still not 100%, my PC has had problems lately, which is my main gaming device, not sure what's wrong yet as it's been freezing up when I play higher end games, but my PS5 being a fall back if something happened to my system since certain parts can be absurdly priced nowadays sorta makes me want to keep it just in case.  We'll see I guess.

I think that's a solid plan. I've really grown to love my Switch 2. I have a few games reserved for it, and a few games in the backlog getting ready to be played. I still like my PS5 and play it frequently so I wouldn't trade mine. But, if you're not using yours then it could help get rid of a chunk of the Switch 2's cost.

I wish I played my PS5 more, but most anything I would like to play, I'd rather play on PC, and what that leaves for PS5 isn't a lot when Sony doesn't have a ton of games worth checking out most of the time.  Death Stranding 2 was the last one I played and that was over a year ago, that's how long my PS5 hadn't been touched lol I'm trying to see if I can keep my PS5 just so I can finish out whatever the run is for the PS5 before most likely not getting a PS6, this would be the end of my Sony run probably, that way the couple games that may show up I can still play.

I think that's how I would approach the situation were it me. but I suppose it really just depends on how long you're willing to wait to play the Switch 2 titles you're interested in. With that said, what all are you interested in playing for Switch 2?

Only partially informed by the recent Sony announcements (and more inspired by a lack of space) I am also planning on unloading some things from my collection.  Mostly things like extraneous duplicates, peripherals or adapters I have no real use for anymore, or games that I just really don't care about.

Not getting out of the hobby, just doing some downsizing stuff across the board.

There's actually a lot I'm interested to check out that is released at the moment. Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, Star Fox, Pokopia, I was maybe interested in Splatoon Raiders as it looked like it had a cooler singleplayer component than previous games.  Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment was another, I wanted to replay Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, and there's a couple Switch 1 games that came out towards its end that I never got to play that I think even have Switch 2 versions like Super Mario Wonder.  And then there's the upcoming Ocarina of Time remake which is a big deal for me personally. 

With Nintendo, I can better guarantee more games I'm interested in than like the one or two Sony puts out since they just don't really do much with like AA level games that much these days.  All these properties they have access too and they aren't doing anything with them.  No Twisted Metal, no Jak & Daxter, nothing with Bloodborne, no Kill Zone, so much stuff they could probably just get with another studio on to make, put out some stuff with reasonable budgeted games, but nah...Chasing the live service dragon mattered so much more and it bit them in the ass.

There's actually a lot I'm interested to check out that is released at the moment. Maybe there's hope someday for Sony regarding their discarded IPs. Sega is having a revival of sorts that seems to be positively received, and Capcom and even Nintendo periodically release proper remakes for games with fanfare that feel far more deserved of them than something like The Last of Us. Maybe Sony will notice in time that fans would like that. But for me, I'd much prefer new series entries or, ideally, a new IP that catches my attention instead of a remake. Going through Sony's catalog, the last original games they own rights to that have interested me are The Last Guardian in 2016 and Until Dawn in 2015—and I still haven't even played the former. But at the same time, Nintendo is rather hit-or-miss with me too. After a full year of owning the Switch 2, the only three exclusives that appeal to me are Mario Kart World, Splatoon Raiders, and Orbitals—the third which could gain a wider console release someday. I wouldn't have bought the system with so little of interest, but I wasn't the one in my household who decided to buy it.

I've actually not played Ocarina of Time before in any capacity. Had the remake announcement instead been for an original title, I'd have been interested in it. I'd greatly prefer to play the original version, but I only own the 3DS remake so will more than likely resign to play that eventually once I've played all of the other games in the series I currently own. I suppose the same can be said for Majora's Mask too, which I only own the 3DS remake for but have never played in any way.

The 3DS remakes were good, as they are fairly straight up like the N64 versions, just with some general additions and visual improvements.  I'd actually been wanting them to just port the 3DS versions into like a double bundle with them for years now, since like the Wii U.  Or if you want to play them as original as can be, they are up on NSO, but I'd probably say just play the 3DS versions.  Even with not using an N64 controller, it can be abit rough replaying N64 games I found that out when I tried playing Banjo-Kazooie on NSO awhile back lol

Picked up my Switch 2 today, and went with Pokopia for my game, so that'll be me for abit.  I'm also gonna replay Breath of the Wild, enjoy the performance boost as I've been meaning to replay it for a long while now.

Only thing that sucks with the Switch 2 is that it's like the same exact menu system as the Switch and they still haven't offered up themes, I don't get why they don't want themes on their systems, it's such an easy thing to add and would make the menus look so much better.  This is certainly meaningless in the grand scheme of things, but it's just something nice to have.  Playstation 5 has themes, even if they permanently removed the PS1 theme, the only good theme lol

Congratulations! Do you have any intent on DK Bonanza. For me that was the big console seller. I have never played a game so long at a kiosk. Usually kiosks im like eh i'll try it quick.  My momma woulda had to pry me off the thing like the 90s lol.  It's really fun.  Colorful too.  Someday i'll get switch 2. Tbh if Xbox or Nintendo claim physical next gen i'll jump ship. Fingers crossed. If they all go digital i'll either not buy at all or go streaming only. No way im paying 70 dollars for a code.

As for your complaint. I feel they played it safe with the switch 2. That comes with pros and cons.  Pros are they dont mess anything up. Cons are you dont get much new. Its hardly a successor at all. It's an updated Switch 1. Same Menu. Same overall vibe.  Mostly same UI and even games. In fairness though Sony and Xbox have been mostly the same console for a decade now and people didnt notice.  Nintendo is playing it smart. But they do need fresh ideas. Next gen wont be so forgiving.


I think id probably have been a full Nintendo all the way guy if they had trophy support. It took us 2 decades to get viable party chat support.  They rolled it out for Switch 2 like it was new tech.  Dude its a party chat. We were doing that in 2006.  And on top of it.  No themes like you said.  Sometimes it feels the things fans want most Nintendo intentionally doesnt do out of spite.   They're also insanely prideful and hate copying competitors.

Okay so here's my biggest complaint about the original Switch and I don't know if it was changed for the Switch 2. I don't know like anybody really cares about this as much as I do, but I don't understand why you can't just turn the system off. It can only be put in sleep mode, which is stupid for a portable system. It means that if you're taking the Switch on a trip, it's steadily losing battery life at all times, even if you aren't playing it.

My wife's Switch Lite is always 100% dead if she wants to play it because, unless you leave that thing on a charger 24/7, it's going to lose battery over time. I don't know what they were thinking.
