Ugh, yeah, I've been keeping an eye on the story since it's local news here, but it's interesting that the local news website doesn't mention the following:

- the specific type of game console (they only say "game console")
- the part about his girlfriend being in the car

If anything, the local news does mention that the website used to arrange the meeting was not Craigslist.

...Totally unnecessary loss of life; my thoughts are with the man's family and girlfriend.  The robber was and will forever be a coward, and I hope they catch him.

(1st bolded) - Yeah.  Funny that you should mention it being local news for you, because, when I read that it was in San Fran...I remembered that you were from there and thought of you...If not for this post...I was actually going to PM you -and- ask that you be very, very careful about where/when you sell anything online to a stranger.

And seriously - W.t.F.?

It sounds like the guy was voluntarily trying to hand over the console -not- fighting/resisting...He can't have killed him just for knowing what he looked like...wouldn't he have shot the g/f, too if that was the case?

(2nd bolded) = Agree 100%

Unfortunately, the area that they were all meeting is not known for being a "nice" area.  That's not to say that the assailant wasn't from some other city, though.

But yah, I appreciate your concern!  I don't really sell things at all, and if I do, I prefer to do it online where there's some fraud protection and my interaction with the other person is limited.  I'm paranoid even when I advertise empty packing boxes on CL.

You know, you'd prolly have twice as many games in your collection if the dupe money went to other games. ;)

Has anyone ever heard of NES games that won't work on a Top Loader?  I tried to play Clu Clu Land tonight and can't get it to work on either top loader I have. Popped in in the toaster and it fired right up. What the hell?

Obviously your top loaders are broken. You should send them to me, so I can check them out.  ;)

On a unrelated note to broken top loaders:

If you want a new Top 10 NES game, try Bucky O'Hare. I really need to play this one more. I couldn't get Clu Clu Land to work so I popped Bucky in. Damn, this game is good. It's hard as all f-bombs in some spots, but the controls are great and it's just plain fun.

On another unrelated note:
Donkey Kong on the NES sucks. It's waaaaay easier than the arcade game.  The elevator level isn't in the first playthrough of the arcade.  The conveyor belt level isn't in the NES game at all.

On the final unrelated note:

I use way too much punctuation in my post, especially semi-colons.

Not in the original version, at any rate...
