Any significant differences in the PSX vs the PS1?
I almost always see, read, (and use) the 2 names synonymously.
Yeah I can understand the Confusion about this system, Before I got into Japanese consoles I used to call the 1st model Playstation a PSX. and the 2nd model a PS1.
But Once I found out there was a Console called the PSX released only in Japan and it was in fact a fancy PS2/DVR and has really not much to do with the PS1, I only refer to the classic Playstation as PS1 (model 1 & 2) or if in a forum call them PS1 and PSone.
Most people in America never even heard of the Japan PSX so when someone talks about PSX in the US they are usually talking about an original PS1.
On a side note, I have to say the PSX is a cool looking system, it has cool light effects when its playing. All though it weighs a ton and the controller ports are in the back and kinda a pain to get to. It only plays Japanese PS2/PS1 games, and atm I only own 1 PS2[JP] game.
