Just click on your avatar on the main site. List of badges http://vgcollect.com/forum/index.php/topic,131.0.html   Sadly, they are not updated, I have more than 2000 items in my collection and only a "1000" badge on my profile.

The badges functionality is pretty broken right now.

Do you know if the functionality will be fixed soon?

Serious question:

Are these badges really *that* important to anyone?!

 :o

I mean, it's not like anyone can/will ever see them unless they went out of their way to look for them...and WHY would anyone ever do/care about that?

They remind me of acheivements. They are not THAT important, but I think they are a fun addition to the website and I would like to be able to use them! :)

Don't get me wrong, I like collecting trophies too -but- they're at least somewhat merit-based instead of just badges showing how many games you've bought...

Not all the badges are about how many games you've bought. There are ones based on edits and submissions too.  :P

I know that!

But, since it was a new member asking about checking his badges - the only ones that they'd be able to check for would be the # of games ones   8)

Hey don't be talking bad about the badges!  :P I think they are a fun feature to the site, but the thing I miss the most is the edits counter on the about pages.  It allowed me to set goals on amount of edits submitted and see how far away I was from the next edit badge.

Obviously it must be important to some people. This subject keeps getting brought up.

Hmm, it seems some badges actually ARE updating, while others aren't.

I now have a "100 Edits" badge that I didn't used to have. However I still have a "700 Items in Collection" badge, yet I'm well over 800 items, now.

We had some big plans for badges back in the day, but they pretty much got abandoned. I'd like to see them again someday. It obviously isn't important to some people, it was just kind of a fun bonus thing we did.
