Went and beat the last Nioh demo and kinda was turned around on it. Like I'm not crazy into it, but I might pick it up later on. I understand it's trying to bring in stuff seen with Onimusha and Ninja Gaiden in the past, but it's very much a Souls game more than anything else I feel. What sorta turned me off the game was the combat. Stance changing, there's lots of combo stuff going on, adding more and more as you play and I'm not super into that stuff, doing lots of switching and whatever, but I was able to play the game pretty straight forward.
When you know a creature has lighter attacks, or normal people are attacking, switch more defensive with mid stance. If you are fighting big tough guys with powerful weapons, it's better to dodge and switch to the high damage, though slower, high stance. I probably will never be switching around in battle, and not doing all the crazy combos, but you can play it more like a Souls game, or more specifically abit more like Bloodborne, because it's about speed, abit less tanking hits, and recovering ki compared to recovering health.
The demo is done with tomorrow I think, but I'd recommend it. If you beat the main mission, you get a bonus goodie you can claim in the full release.
